    << <i>Handyman's 84 is the sweetest 7 on the planet >>

Mickey I agree that is a sweet 7, probably a bump in a PSA holder.

Handy's 84 is like SGC trying to make a statement. Every now and then SGC will have 84's that are just crazy high end...but 88's will be centered 75/25 sometimes or mid 50's 88's will have some decent corner wear. Handy's card should be an 86 based on minor corner wear, outstanding color and great centering. That card makes 90% of the 8's look generic. Ron's 7.5 deserves some love also--nice card Ron.image

It is now in a PSA 8 holder. I sent it to PSA 2 times out of the case(cracked out) and they gave it a 7 when I sent it in. But the person who bought it from me got it in an 8 holder a few months ago. I sold the card in the 7 case( a psa 7 case)

I can keep the thread going. Just got this card last December. Got an sgc 3 and moved it to PSA and it came back a 2.5. Doesn't really matter to me, because I collect psa cards, but I saw the card I liked and got it. I think it looks as good as many 3's and 4's anyway. It's now one of my favorite cards I own.

    *bump*

anyone pick one of these bad boys up lately? I remember someone posting their awesome PSA 8 a few days ago, but that thread seems to be buried now.

Post 'em if you got 'em!

That is awesome. Where did you get it? I'd love to find a custom card of Gretzky in an Indianapolis Racers uniform.

I made the 1955 Bowman Clemente "rookie." It's one of my 250 or so custom baseball and football cards. You can find many of them by hitting the link in my signature.

Yep, definitely a nice card regardless of grade -- nice corners and centering, too. A well loved card, but not abused. image

I bought that exact custom card, I love it. AUPT does a great job on all of his custom cards!

I too bought a copy of the Bowman custom from Bob. Love it!

Here's my Clemente, centering is a bit low top to bottom, but not bad for a qualifier.

I'm floored by how many stunning Clemente rookies there are on this thread! Here's my 6:

"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

    That's a great looking 1.5. You can't beat a nicely centered Clemente.

    This thread is amazing!
I just got this a couple weeks ago. First Clemente rookie I've ever owned.

I started watching and saving for one a couple years ago back when you could get a 7 for less than 2k. Then all of a sudden prices tripled and priced me out of a 7. Bought this nice 5 instead and it's one of my top 2 or 3 cards in my collection.
