Re: Slabbed coins - There are some coins that LIVE within clear plastic and wear their labels with pride... while there are others that HIDE behind scratched plastic and are simply dragged along by a label. Then there are those coins that simply hang out, naked and free
State quarters. Too many to have long term collectibility and although some have pretty designs most are flat and boring. Made many new collectors so that does not "annoy" me though.
hate those little bas***ds. They keep me awake at night....spend too much money on them....too much time.....cant seem to find the ones I really want.....especially that 1866!
most of the new designs introduced after World War II... Roosevelts, Franklins, Kennedys, etc. When you compare them with the pre-war designs, for me, there's no comparison in terms of beauty and aesthetics.

Actually I think there might be a pubic hair inside the holder so maybe you arent so far off.
Those that have rotating appearances every year or multiple times per year like state quarters, native am dollars, state parks, etc. Funny thing is, I got back into numismatics in 2000 by pulling state quarters from circulation. It branched out from there. Now a state quarter is something to drop in a vending machine to me.
never really liked Morgan Dollars and it sort of annoys me that so many people seem to like them... and when I'm at coin shows there are tables full of them and nothing else!! but i just move along and eventually find the copper
Actually no coins annoy me. Out there somewhere someone loves any series that someone else is knocking. It's like arguing Fords and Chevrolets, you can't win so leave each to his own.

Proofs coins in general. The idea of collecting something that was specifically made to be collected turns me off big time. It's no different than collecting Beanie Babies.
Truly annoying to me are shield nickels in business strike where it is so difficult to tell them from their proof counterparts but yet the difference in cost is significant.

I agree on this too. There are a couple coins id like to own in proof, but generally just from my favorite series and 1 of each would do. Otherwise it makes no sense to me. Its like collecting fake money not meant for circulation. I dont even like the look of them except in DMPL.

I generally agree. However, I am a sucker for proof walkers. There are also a few series where I would prefer proof coins for type examples. Some proof nickels are just so much better struck up then their counterparts...........MJ

That is the 1 series I could ever see wanting to own the whole run of because it is my favorite series and its small an obtainable. outside of that I'd like to own 1 proof merc dime and 1 proof Barber half, otherwise the proofs dont really appeal to me.
First hags... er I mean first spouse gold series. Seems like the least effort ever put into a design series. Lousy strikes, big mint premiums and subject matter no one really cares about !!

Mumu, I like your 43. Nice color. I do like some Roosevelts though -- they can be some beautiful toners.
