How do I make a payment with paypal with out using the funds in my paypal account. Like using a credit card or debit card?

If you have funds in your PayPal account, it's not possible. PayPal will use up those funds first and grab the remainder from your linked account. (credit card and or bank account)

I always transfer the funds out to my bank account before making a payment on paypal unless I want to use those funds. I don't think there is any other option.

Not possible....they go to the balance first.

As said, withdraw your money first. Then make the payment. You don't have to wait until it gets to your account, only need to initiate the action.

I've tried paying via credit/debit, but never worked for me...

you are talking about eBay?


if so - you go to eBay auction

hit the pay with PAYPAL button

it will make you sign into PAYPAL

then another auction summary screen pops up
it shows your shipping address - and total fess with shipping $XXX.XX from PAYPAL funds
to the right of that is another link (more funding options) - hit that link and it gives you all your options
with PAYPAL -> echeck with linked accts, debit cards, credit cards, or existing PAYPAL balance

change funding source or keep the same - and finish checkout

Will not give you credit card option if funds are avialable in paypal accout unless purchase prices is greater than funds in paypal account. In that case it will only let you pay remaining balance with credit cards. To use credit card you do not have to wait for funds to be transferred out of paypal account; you only have to intitiate the withdrawal of the funds and then you will immediately be given an "other funding options" during checkout to use credit card.

That is the absolutely correct answer. Anyone else telling you to the contrary, doesn't know what their talking about.
