Please share with us the grade these two coins held before resubmitting? I have many PCGS graded coins in OGH and am thinking of sending them in for re grading under this program.

Ah, now begins the CSI (Coin Scrutiny Inquest) to examine the finite details between + and the next grade. What many do not realize is that there are, as yet, no finite standards. We still assign grades based on opinion. Nothing has changed, other than splitting the grade level to allow further price steps. There will still remain the disagreements of old. Cheers, RickO

I expect the price for this service will go down to a reasonable level as the volume's of submissions increase. My opinion is that the submission cost for this service is too high at this time so I will wait a bit!

Just curious-- will you attempt to sticker the Plus coin? I would be interested to see the interaction between Plussing and Stickering.

The dollars may be a wash, but I am guessing this brings increased liquidity. The jump in price from a 64 to 65 for this date/variety is too big for many collectors who can afford the rest of the series in 65/66.
Actually, I was up late because I was trying to package up an eBay sale but could not find the danged coins! It seems I've got more coins than brains lately.

I made a horribly stupid move on purchasing the Type 2 below but I was convinced it was an MS65. So convinced that when I first saw the auction I thought sure it was a Silver business strike with the mint mark photoshopped off.
..
When the coin arrived, I was very pleased. Yes, it had some grade limiting marks but the eye appeal was fantastic and compared to others I've seen, the coin was a 65 in my mind. The initial submission came back as a 64. Subsequent submission(s) also came back as 64's.
..
..
Now I had a 64 that was a great looking coin (far better than any other MS64 Type 2 I possess) but limited to a technical 64! Dang!
When PCGS announced the "+" grading, I knew that this coin would hit that plus mark with no problems and now, hopefully, I can recoup some of my cash and not have to tuck my tail too far between my legs! No way I'll get it all back but hopefully more than your typical MS64.
The other coin, an MS65 to begin with, I purchased from a forum member who felt it was a good upgrade candidate and had submitted it several times. I submitted it for plus grading on the hopes that PCGS would agree.
No luck.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
so you atrted with 2 64's and ended with a 64+ and a 65 in two of the new secure shield holders?
way cool - are you going to submit a collectors club quarterly? as I noticed it took about a day after the announcement before you sent off those 2 great IKEs - congrats

Sorry, I didn't intend to mislead.

Too high? What do you mean? It's $15 more than the express level. You'll be waiting quite awhile for the price to come down...or do you mean you want PCGS to offer Secure Plus at the regular level (so maybe $45ish)?
Positive BST transactions with: too many names to list! 36 at last count.
If that 64+ Ike could be seen by CAC, and they would not certify it, where does that leave you? Doesn't CAC keep a listing of all slab numbers that are seen and not stickered?
If I had a 64+ coin I was looking to upgrade, I would not include a decent or strong 65 along with it for comparison. That makes the 64 look worse. And if the 64+ is really nice, it will make the 65 coin look not as nice and limit its chance of getting the +. In my mind these 2 types of coins should either go on separate orders or be paired up with coins in the same quality range.
If that MS65 Ike is borderline + it's best to send it back in with a mid-grade/solid 65 so the graders can more easily see the differences. "Like sand through the hourglass, so are the tenths of our lives."

I have seen several responses to SecurePLus grading questions that have included elements of the folowing:
"A 65 will still trump a 64+ no matter what."
Let's all keep reminding ourselves of that. I applaud PCGS, the fellow Board members here, and all the study going on that is in depth, but I would rather have a 65 than any adjustments done to my 64s any day.
One can't help but notice the shifting of the Date/Denom/Grade info towards the top of the insert leaves plenty of room for a CAC bean to be affixed w/o obscuring any of the imfo. (Although Lee's coins are not eligible )

Good move Lee, I should send my T2's in as well.

If you refer to a CAC sticker then you should be aware that CAC does not at this time evaluate Ike dollars.

The labels are a much darker blue which is comprised of high quality micro printing.
The shield is a high quality image with "sparklies" in the ink. The texture looks similar to the texture of the "Alligator Proofs".
