Interesting older 100 oz Engelhard poured bar

In my hunt to try to find a lead-filled 100 oz Engelhard silver bar to do some testing on (I haven't been able to find one yet), I came across this intriguing one. I can't quite tell if it is one of the most beautiful Engelhard bars, or one of the ugliest. I thought I'd share it here.

Here's the front of it -- it just seems like a normal older Engelhard 100oz bar:

But, check out the back of it:

Apparently, when it was poured, a lot of air was trapped in the mold. Here's a closeup (a bit blurry, though) of some of the holes:

Finally, a view of a side of the bar that had some air pockets, too (only 1 of the 4 sides did):

This is the result of a bar being poured without properly preheating the mold first. The silver cools so quickly against the "cold" mold that it solidifies before the trapped air has time to escape.

Does it weigh correctly? I assume it does...

Neat looking bar. Those air holes give it character and makes it different from all the others.

Here are my two JM Pauwels Brussels kilo bars.

My old pour Spanish bars exhibit the same characteristics:

Yes, 3113g, or 100.08oz. Engelhard may not have been too concerned about looks back then, but they never fool around when it comes to weight.

And, just for kicks, I tried the ultrasonic thickness tester on that bar, and where I could get a good reading, it showed it as being silver.
