34. I collect beaded car seat cushions, those containers with 7 sections for each day of the week's medications, and tubes of Prep H.

36 and only got back into collecting in the last 6 months or so. Jumped in with no focus, so I got rid of everything that I had and decided to start much smaller. I have recently started the John Smoltz master set, attempting to get as many as possible in PSA 10. Have also picked up a few Smoltz auto items and tickets. Figured it was better to work towards something then just random aquisitions.

I'm 30. I just finished my 1979 Hockey set and I'm trying to finish my 1975 baseball set. Once I do that, I'll hopefully figure out what I want to do with my 68 set. I'm leaning towards keeping it raw and just having the stars graded in PSA 8. I also collect Brian Downing game used memorabilia and Angels/Lakers/Rams used items.

I'm 53 going on 40 (I eat oatmeal twice a day) lol. I collect early 70's packs in PSA holders....they make me feel like a kid again!!!

Please don't take this wrong but a 30 something is not an elder. You qualify when you click on a topic and see a post, you say to yourself "that guy is full of it" then notice it is a post you made but forgot you did. At over 60 I collect the cards I had as a kid. I really have little interest in modern. My goal is to finish my 1960 set before I go to my reward. I obviously won't finish it afterwards.

I am middle 50's and I started collecting only a few years ago in earnest. Since I am older I usually only go after nice cards of my favorite players, usually GB Packer greats. Not really looking to make money, but don't want to lose it either.

Shoot, at age 42 I was wondering if I was going to be part of the "elders." I shouldn't have opened the thread to have it confirmed I am an elder. Ohhhh shoot, I just spilled some prune juice into my keyboard. Ah hell....

Going on 52. I am working on Indians sets from 1952 - 1980 and a representative card of any set made prior to 1952 with a member of the Tribe.

Just about 51, --- I mostly collect baseball sets for our 5 sons. I take the year they were born , subtract 20 years, and thats it. I have sets in 1966, 1968 , 1970 , 1983 and 1984. Most of them are very high quality. I have a few other pet projects as well. -- Sonny

That's pretty cool. My boys will end up with my stuff eventually but currently my oldest is more interested in my video game collection but still likes to look through his cards while I'm sorting through mine.

I am 46 and I started collecting again last year when my son turned 8, and he started getting into playing baseball. We collect the top 200 and 250 sportscards in the hobby, and 1950 Callahan cards. We also collect Alltime Lakers and Dodgers. Recently just for some quick fun, because the sportscards left that we need are very expensive, we have turned to a few non sportscard sets. We have purchased some sets of 1966 Get Smart, 1963 Flintstones, 1963 Popeye, 1963 Laurel and Hardy.

I'm 20-11, so I don't know if I fall into this thread or the other one. I collect Clemente and everything else on my registry. Soon I will jump into the 1965 Topps Baseball set, but I am going to finish the Clemente set first.

in my day we didn't have all of this fancy/schmancy refactor die-cut autograph hologram 1/1 stuff. we had cards that came is series and when it was time for the series to be over the local confectionary took those packs away and we never saw them again. sometimes the store would miss a shipment and we would never see entire series of cards. there was no ebay and later on we would go to a relatives house miles away who did get that series and we would see strange faces on cards. we would want to trade, but we didn't bring our cards to trade and we were out of luck. packs cost a nickle and we got five cards in a pack. we threw them against walls and acutally played make believe games with the cards. our families back then were poor and we ate the gum from the packs for breakfast, lunch and dinner and when we ran out of gum we ate the wrappers. we actually traded cards to our friends and no one cared if the card was centered. we sorted by team and put rubber bands around the stacks of cards.

AND THAT'S THE WAY IT WAS AND WE LIKED IT.

Heh, if this was the Beckett forums, then 30+ would certanly fall in the "elder" category.

I'm 34, I'm not an "elder" anything (though my sister-in-law's new boyfriend confused me for her dad recently...), but I collect HoFer rookie cards and all kinds of SF Giants cards.

i had no collecting focus when i was 9, just grabbed at anything pretty, because i knew i'd touch it more than once.

now 48, still the same.....well, no that's not quite right.

when i was 9 i don't think i cared much if other people got the pretty ones, too.

I'm 37. I am mainly working on a run of Topps (1951-80) and Bowman (1948-'55) as well as some earlier issues.

I am, however, working on the 2010 Topps set with my 11-year old daughter.

I am 38 and collect baseball pre 1976. My sweet spot is the 50's and 60's. I started going to card shows in 81/82, when it was really fun and $20 get get you alot of Mantles, Aaron's and Mays. Got out of the new stuff a couple of years ago, sold alot of it and now am really focusing on high grade vintage.

By the way, just bought my 1960 topps Tommy Davis and now down to 5 cards to finally finish my 1960 Topps set. Only been working on for 10 years.

I'm 47, and collect PSA 9/10 Nolan Ryan cards, along with PSA 9/10 cards of Padre and Charger HOFers. I also collect baseball HOF rookie cards, with an emphasis on pre-WWII HOFers (not just RCs in pre-WWII). Additionally, I collect all basic cards of certain HOFers, like Ted Williams, Hank Aaron, Jackie Robinson, Reggie Jackson and Steve Carlton.

I'm 42, topps heritage got me back into the hobby. Now in between heritage transactions, I am working on finishing my long-dormant 70/71/73 sets. Then it will be onto 67 and/or 56. Like all my 70s sets, Purely raw - and midgrade (exmt).

I am 61 and don't collect much of anything anymore. No need too. Heck I don't even buy green bananas anymore. I still have all my cards I collected, all my comic books and coins even from when I was a kid.
