Ever "just bid" on an auction and wish you went a bit higher.

On rare occasions I have placed “cover bids” on items that grabbed my interest, but not my “obsession.” I’ve only been successful once on one of those. It was for a nice Sam’s Inn token which the Fulds listed as a Boston, Mass. Civil war token. I bought for an attractive price, held for a few years and then sold it at a profit when I moved away from New England.
Sometimes I'm just as disappointed for having to have stuff now and bidding... ie the 2001 Sac in PCGS PR69DC I paid $58 and I can now find it for less than half that with some patience. That is one of the downfalls of collecting modern coins.
