    Seems too nice for just AU50, so I'll say AU53 as well.

    Is that light area over at 3 o'clock on the obverse rim anything bad?
    When in doubt, don't.

    The is very close to full mint sharpness, but I'm guessing by the picture that it is toned over and a bit dull. I'm guessing the spot referred to by others is an uneven area in the toning. I'd go with AU-50 because AU-53 is used so infrequently.
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    Picture is kinda dark on my monitor. Not sure if it's weak strike, common for this date, or wear, so I'll say 55 or 62.

    My guess is AU55.

    graded PCGS AU50.

    I was looking for a 55 when I submitted it. Nice original coin.
