How to become a successful vest pocket dealer

BearBear Posts: 18,953 ✭✭✭
Buy VG coins, mark them as XF grade, then sell them for F - VF price.

If you want to become a high class vest pocket dealer, then buy

AU sliders, dip em, grade them MS-65 and sell then for a MS-63 price.

Any questions?image Remember, you can lie, you can cheat and you can

steal. However, you are not supposed to do all three at the same time.

The scenario that is described above is often referred to in the industry as "blue collar overgrading".

I know you're being funny, but some of the most honest dealers I've known were vest pocket dealers. And some scum of the earth, weren't.

The dealer I get along with best started out as a vest pocket dealer. Through the years he has been the most honest person I have met in this game.

I do not know about the quality, but the quantity has certainly dropped.
Quality, always remains in the mind of each beholder.

To make a point, sometimes one uses straight up comments, sometimes
one uses humor and sometimes one uses a reversal, to make the opposite
seem more correct and apparent. A person must learn to read not only the
lines as written, but the intent between the lines as well. image

Follow Bears advise and you'll have about 2 shows in you, or, become an Ebay powerseller and a top seller status.

Can we assume that "white collar overgrading" is a little more subtle?

I forgot to add: Use a bright purple market to put the prices on the 2x2s and use Redbook prices.

At the last coin show I attended in Seattle, I actually saw an individual wearing a vest. Did not check his pockets, likely full of crumbs....image Cheers, RickO
