I suck at reading every word of every post - I saw Steve's synopsis of what Scott wrote and posted from there.

It's amazing how fast a thread can spiral.

Sportslots, thanks for bringing this moron buyer to the CU boards attention. Just added them to my blocked bidder lists. Check out the feedback that idiot buyer has left for other sellers. A total tool.

Selling a PSA card on ebay is not an approval service. 99% of most buyers know exactly what they're buying when they bid on a PSA 7. A PSA 7 will have and often times does have some corner wear. If the buyer has a complaint, it should be directly with PSA and not the seller. The seller didn't grade the card, they're only the middle man on the deal.

It's an entirely different story if the buyer asked the seller a question before bidding and asked if this particular PSA 7 had razor sharp corners and the seller said 'yes'. From what's been stated and the emails posted, this didn't happen. I find no fault with the sellers actions. You can tell from the scan provided the card does have a little corner wear.

PSA 7's can be graded 6's or 8's on different days. The grading game is is not an exact science, only TPG's subjective opinion. They seem to get it right 95% of time in my opinion, which is pretty solid.

Ebay blows on their return policy on graded material.

Also, Sportslots' low number of posts here means nothing. With some of the responses they've received on this thread alone, why would they want to participate with any additional postings/observations?

I fear you are right. Imagine a large B&M store that could FORCE its suppliers to take back ANY return without question, without recourse and at full price, and you see where this is heading.

Ebay should not be a place where you buy it and then see if you want it. It is not a card show where you go around looking at cards and see if you like it. I understand that there are certain cases that warrant a return, but not because you do not like it. Make sure you really like and if the scan is not great or you are unsure wait for the next one.

Blocked and blocked... ebay is too big to have to deal with people like this.
  • I just feel bad for a guy that has gotten screwed by so many sellers.
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

I can't dispute the history of this bidder (Cardcop), but I had two transactions with him last month and both went fine. He made quick payment, and left great feedback for me.
  • BugOnTheRugBugOnTheRug Posts: 1,611 ✭✭✭
I hear ya 5150, but Cardcop05 really sums up for me how out of touch ebay is. Read his negs - how can one rant and rave so very often, yet continue without any red flags (from ebay) is beyond me.

Is there a dedicated thread on the boards about ebay bad buyers? A 'blocked' list of buyers of raw and slabbed, especially vintage? I've pretty much ignored this most of my ebay life but have been very lucky not to deal with such twerps. However, all it would take is one fairly expensive transaction to go south for me to lose it.

Why not an "official" dedicated thread for deadbeats and problem bidders/sellers?

How this guy is still allowed to buy on ebay is beyond me? Pathetic.
