When I die, My slabs may not go to Texas!

As I type this a second time becuase my 7 seconds of Windows deleted everything I had written, I ponder the thought of having my wife and children determine the fate of the shed load of cardboard and plastic slabs in the basement, should I meet my demise. I have written index cards for them and hopefully have them strategically placed on the shelf in the safe, but if the fire comes and over 2200 degrees I and the cards are toast!

I was intrigued by Pigs dilema, and some responses, but believe that although many of us have thought of this uncertainty, it is something we often keep to ourselves. I would think that there are
some here on the boards that specalise in Living Wills with Collectables. I have a desire to learn more, and would apprciete some PM's on the subject.

My collection is going to family, they can do with it whatever they want. I expect they will list them on eBay under my account. I think the best thing to do is keep a good record what when and how much you purchased each item for to help them if they choose to sell. Monetary value of collectibles for me is a drop in the bucket against other assets. I try to follow a "rule of twenty," that is, I don't buy something unless I can buy twenty and if I can't, then I can't afford it. A lot of times I don't buy anything unless I can use paypal money from previous sales.

I think too that it is ludicrous and unfair to request an item be passed down the family because it meant something to the collector.
