Pics of PVC damage.

I see threads from time to time from people asking what pvc damage looks like.

I was taking pics tonight and shot a few of these. Pvc damage may not always look like this
but I can guarantee you that this is pvc damage.

    Good post, thanks. I still have a bit of a time seeing the green, but thats just me, i'm color blind image

    I don't see any green, and I'm not colorblind, so I guess these were acetone dipped, showing how the metal was etched by the acid in the residue.thanks for posting those.

    as often as not PVC looks clear/white as it does green. i have seen it like that mainly towards the rim of coins in the lettering.

    Good post, did you use acetone to remove the PVC? It sure does damage a coin. The cautions given here so frequently cannot be repeated enough. Cheers, RickO

    Yes, these coins were acetoned to remove the pvc. These are some of the coins pictured in the linked thread.

    Most of the coins were etched. The proofs faired the worst.
