Well bought this 1945s US Silver dime today, the dime has been cleaned and is retoning but overall not a bad coin

Hi Silverpop, nice coin, are you assembling a set of Wartime Mercs? That's what I'm trying to do, mainly uncirculated, but not entirely, since I found out about those pesky overdates. Here's my 45-s (small s).

The dime in the OP has an honest, circulated look..... the rest have lost their nice, fresh, minted look due to tarnish. Cheers, RickO

I couldnt disagree more with ricko here.image

Not trying to knock anyones coin here, but a circulated coin which has been dipped and retoned, well, cant have an honest look. Its been ruined.

Now, regardless of toning, or lack there of, if the others are original, they have an honest look, even if tarnished to some extent.

Why if I had that dime when I was a kid I could have bought a Coke and a candy bar. I would have been rich, the envy of the other other kids. A dime would have gotten me a comic book, 10 packs of baseball cards, etc.. I have spent many a Mercury Dime in my time that looked like that one. Just remember the only person in the whole entire world that has to like that coin is you, and me of course, and I like it too.

Thats what its all about!image If I came across to be bashing your coin, Im sorry, that wasnt my intention at all, and rereading my posts, it seems it could come off that way.

Its your coin, and if you like it, thats what matters. I just bought a beat to crap 1817 Large cent for $8 and I cant stop the excitement.

imageAgain, sorry if I came across like a jerk......
