Yes ,he apologized publicly because it was in his best interest money wise.I think most people in his position would do the same. His cheating is between him and his family and God to work out.I think he is the best golfer ever and I like watching him golf. And yes I"m tired of hearing about this and all of the other Neg. in the news constantly.Focus on the Positive for a change!I know it won't happen because that stuff doesn't sell papers,so to speak, but it would be nice.

Are you kidding? Sadly, I don't think you are. Grote15 is one of the best posters on here. All he does on this forum is provide great info on unopened packs (he has saved me a lot of money pointing out unopened pack scams), as well as other interesting points he brings to the table on baseball cards. He's never tried to scam anybody with phony bets or deals, he's never done any spam with garbage cards or coins, he's never tried to con anybody on the forum in any way, shape or form, he's a loyal and dedicated NY baseball and football fan, and he provides interesting insight into sports, and yes offers his opinion on sports and card related topics. if you find something wrong with that with some sort of silly two-bit psychoanalysis, then that's your problem not his. Save the psychiatrist speak for the "shrinks-are-us" forum and not here.
Thanks SteveK (and Mike and VintageCardLover), I truly appreciate the kind words...but Steve, this doesn't mean I have to buy that Ryan Howard jersey you have up for sale in your ebay stoore now, does it?

<< <i>This whole episode has probably destroyed him for good. Even if he returns, and I think he will, he'll be a shell of his former self. >>
A shell of his former self, eh? I laughed when you wrote that in February, and I'm laughing now too. Did you hear that Tiger shot a 68 today, which is two shots better than the best he's ever shot in the first round at Augusta?
<< <i>he's still a pretentious D-bag, a cheater, a sleaze and I hope his wife screws him for all he's worth. >>
True and a dam good golfer, too.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
yeah, im sure it was because of her not putting out that made him go bang 3 dollar hookers, waitresses and anything else with a pulse. or maybe he's just a serial philanderer like his good ol' dead daddy (see his fantastic new ad?)

Yikes! I hate what he did and I lost all respect for him as a husband, but come on ShawnyD, was Mrs. ShawnyD on the list, to invoke his dead dad?
The best pitch to start a hitter off with is always strike one.
Way to go Tiger! Nice return today. I could care less who he sleeps with past, present or future, and I don't look to him and never will as being a moral compass for me. I do know that I've missed watching him play on TV, and I've missed watching how his golf talents absolutely dwarf EVERY other player on the tour. I hope he pulls away the next couple of days to where on Sunday he can basically take a victory lap.
I want Tiger to blow out the field. The inevitable, massive media outrage will be great entertainment.

It's amazing how many cast their moral judgment onto Tiger's actions. A majority of the people I hear complaining about what Tiger did have done the same or worse, but it's easy to cast stones at such an easy target.
I can't condone his actions, nor would I attempt to. But I'm so sick and tired of so many others that are equally lacking of moral fiber acting holier than thou in condemning Tiger and making themselves out to be so saintly. I seriously doubt that EVERYONE that has condemned Tiger's actions has lived a clean and pure life. I also don't understand why they act as though Tiger should be held to a standard that we don't even consistently hold our political, church and educational leaders to...
I think Mike put it best but i will rephrase "I have never or never will look to him as a moral compass" I'd take Nicklaus on his best day over Tiger on his. As far as revolutionizing the sport of golf, I think he has brought it to the masses

In my 36 years, I've never cheated once. Ever. If I had Elin, sure as hades wouldn't start.
What he did was morally wrong but it could have been a lot worse. What if that night, he drove away and ran over some kids? Maybe, in hindsight, what played out actually saved Tiger from something much worse...

What if he drove away, went to 7-11 and bought a Slurpee and returned home?
Why does everyone have to make a worst case scenario out of things? Does it really make it easier to find fault?
BTW, my statement, "I seriously doubt that EVERYONE that has condemned Tiger's actions has lived a clean and pure life," was not a suggestion that EVERYONE was guilty of similar transgressions. For those that may be comprehensionally challenged, it is meant as EVERYONE is not a saint and that not EVERYONE that is casting stones is doing so from a squeaky clean history...
I'm faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from perfect and not embarrased to admit it.
However, I have never cheated and always resisted temptations.
It wouldn't matter if Elin was the worst in bed or rarely put out, my johnson would ALWAYS stay put

Don't get me wrong, I believe the whole saga has been blown way out of proportion. Again, I actually want to see Tiger win just for the post-reaction entertainment.

Well, let's hope that Tiger's return to golf will help all involved with the game, as apparently the financial impact of his absence has been felt by more than just Tiger.
Clearly, Augusta National laid off all of their leaf blowers, perhaps anticipating slow ticket sales had Tiger not returned. Are they playing this tournament in late October somewhere in Northern Michigan? I've seen major league dugout floors that look cleaner after 9 innings than the foot bridges looked today.
Even more disturbing is the fact that Tiger's caddie can apparently no longer afford clothing. One can only hope that they don't re-issue the caddy coveralls to someone different in the future, as this guy has decided to go commando. Seriously dude, mix in a T-shirt or button your dang top. The guys chest hair makes the U.S. Open rough look tame.
Oh please, please, pretty please make this happen, Tiger.

Wow, what a creep. In his interview after the 4th round, given the chance to thanks the fans for supporting him and saying ANYTHING positive about the course or the players he can only gripe about his game. Not a single nice thing to say about anything.
Heard he hit a fan with an errant shot on #11, walked up and didn't say a word to the guy he hit, hit his next shot and went on his way. Mickelson then proceeded to hit a fan on the same hole, walked up, asked him if he was okay, apologized, gave him a golf glove, and then hit his next shot.
Sunday evening, Phil with his beautiful wife on the 18th green, Tiger all alone somewhere. Wonder why.
