Decent fight card headlined by Big Nog VS Cain Velasquez. One thing these two guys have in common is an ability to take ALOT of punishment. Cain was being absolutely pummeled with knees in his recent fight with Kongo before gutting out the win. Nog was hit by a truck at age 12 and was fine. I like the up and comming Velasquez in a unanimous decision here. I think he has superior wrestling, and a gas tank that just doesnt run out (this guy pushes the pace as if hes a 155 pounder!), and think he will maintain a dominant position over Nog for most of the fight. Hopefully his submission defense is up to par, cuz it WILL be tested tomorrow night by the world's best HW jui jitsu specialist.
Up next is the Bisping / Wand fight. My emotional side wants to see the Axe Murderer knock the Count out much like Hendo did last year. I just got more and more frustrated with how the UFC had been protecting their UK poster boy with soup can after soup can. Bisping has gotten some better competition lately with his surprising domination over Kang, the KO loss to Henderson, and the decision loss to Rashad. Bisping brings into the ring a more technical striking compliment while Silva is content to just let the hands fly. Bisping does have the ground advantage however, but it may not get to that point. My rational side has Bisping winning this fight via decision in what may turn out to be quite a stand-up war.
My 3rd prediction is Joe Stevenson defeating George Srtoi(you finish that one!) via submission. Although both are very good submission fighters, the difference will be in Joe's overwhelming strength advantage. Im predicting a guillotine choke from his back.
Jardine losses to Bader via ground and pound ref stoppage. Bader is a monster with superior wrestling who will have zero problems getting Keith on his back for a little GnP.
Mirko defeats Rothwell via KO. I think its time for Mirko's return to highlight reel status, and the big show will be too much for Big Ben.

<< <i>Nog was hit by a truck at age 12 and was fine. >>
well he's ok now, but i'm pretty sure he almost died for a few weeks after that.. but he went back and armbarred that truck a few weeks later in a rematch..
Rothwell is out unfortunately, some Australian dude is taking his place.. thats probably good for Crocop..
im disappointed Elvis Sinosic wont be fighting too..
i hope Wanderlei smashes Bisping into the living death..
Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic (26-7-2-1) defeated Anthony Perosh (10-6) via TKO (cut) - Round 2, 5:00

“The Axe Murderer” Wanderlei Silva (33-10-1-1) defeated Michael “The Count” Bisping (18-3) via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
Cain Velasquez (8-0) defeated Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira (32-6-1-1) via KO - Round 1, 2:20
<< <i>WOW , what did the Big Nog stoppage look like? SOO happy about Wand winning, hope he beat to poo out of Bisping. Hope Mirko can come back to form, not sure what is up with him >>
Cain was getting off 1st every time in a boxing match. Early in round 1, he connected with a big right to Nog's chin sending Nog straight down (picture a building being demo'd). After Nog hit the mat, Cain jumped all over him and landed at least 4 or 5 VERY meaningful, and VERY accurate punches to Nog's face. The ref jumped in to stop the fight. Velasquez is the next big thing in the HW division, but I knew that last year when I saw his performance against Kongo.
