When you goto the Baltimore shows do you goto Five Guys?

I feel I always must hit Five Guys for my dive Burger when in Baltimore.

I wont say when I am going BUT I will be paying with Silver Certificates and Silver coins along with wheat pennies to the exact cent so there will be some cool money in the registers this show.
I seldom check PM's but do check emails often jason@seated.org

They have Five Guys everywhere now, when I am slaving for the man I am a patron of the one in Nanuet, NY and when I am back at my compound I patronize the one in Hackensack, NJ and then there's the one in Parsippany, NJ which is convieniently on the way home from the parsippany, NJ coin show.

Never been to one (must be an east coast chain) and have not had a hamburger in about 15 years. I think I will pass. image
  • I haven't been there but I always make it a point to visit the Ruth's Chris on Water Street. It's by far one of the best in the country.

Very true, amazingly the stuffed Chicken is a great dish there if you are not in the mood for a steak.

Five Guys has flat-out AMAZING Burgers and I do love me a good hamburger. Well, Cheeseburger but technically that's not Kosher.. image

Anyhow, if you like Burgers it is VERY much worth a stop, and the Burgers are cheap. The fries are also excellent and they have that most important condiment for a TRUE french fry enthusiast, Malt Vinegar imageimageimage

It might be useful to state their full name Five Guys Burgers and Fries.

Because if you mention you had Five Guys in conversation to someone unaware with this establishment you might get some funky looks image

  • They finally brought a couple to Cleveland last year and the lines are never less than 3/4 full.

Just make sure to note that a hamburger at Five Guys is really a double hamburger.

There's one right near my college here in Orlando. I had lunch there the other day with my friend. I love their fries! And their burgers are awesome too!

It's still a fast food burger to me. If I want a good burger I either hit one of the great pubs in Philly or throw one on my grill and top it with some caramelized onions and gorgonzola. Mmmm, now I'm hungry.

I've only been to Five guys once in Lancaster, PA, but the serving sizes were HUGE. The burgers were doubled, and one order of fries were enough for 4 people, so there we were (4 of us) with enough fries for 16 people.

If you see something on the menu listed as "small", that's what you want.

  • There used to be a bar in New Orleans called Port of Call (don't know if it still exists) that had burgers and stuffed baked potatoes that were truly astounding. A religous experience. Worth the trip - from NJ. Of course, a few days on Bourbon Street had something to do with it as well.

Five Guys is one of the treats I enjoy when in Savannah.

Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set:
    1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!
  • Bully, its better than IN/OUT.

    Fries are way way better.

It's the peanut oil that is the difference.

IN/OUT's fries ...they just miss..its like eating fresh cardboard sticks.

    25 burgers in NJ > In-N-Out
  • If you're at the Baltimore show and want to eat at a real dive with excellent food, you have to try the Upper Deck. 5 min walk, excellent fried everything from taters to crab cakes. Don't say I didn't warn you though, it's a DIVE. Open 24h too for the truly adventurous!

When Mrs curly and I go to Panama City Fl., we always to to Five Guys at the Pier Point. Best burger I've ever had. When in Vegas, we always stop and In-n-Out on Tropicanna. I like Five Guys a LOT better.

Another place equal to Five Guys while in Maryland is Boardwalk Burgers and Fries. Locations are sparse, though.

An even more important question though is, what do you get on your Five Guys burger?

I always just order my burger with everything. If they have it and it's the same price as without then load it up. Bad part is some part of the burger is going to run down your arm at some point but the extra laundry bill is well worth it. Our Five Guys in Douglasville, GA has been open for a little over a year and they do a heck of a lot of business there.
  • i think they are a tad overrated and most of the five guys establishments i have been too have been filthy.

They need to cook the burgers medium rare, but they do well done.

I think they are good burgers, but not super fantastic.

however their toppings are always fresh and flavorful unlike the other chain fast food places around.

also their fries are made from freshly cut potatoes and fried in peanut oil. The fries are the best of any chain fast food around.

If it weren't for their meat, I'd say super fantastic, however for the overall meal it is my favorite. it will not taste like the typical chain burger meal.

I hope we can make it to the show... if we go I'm sure we'll eat there... plus there is the added benefit of ::

There is one in this area, and it is clean and the burgers are some of the best I have had outside of my own grill. The fries are really great. There are many toppings and you can have none, some or all for the same price. Cheers, RickO

OK, let's start the bidding image

I will donate $200 to APN's charity auction, if RYK agrees here in writing that he will have a burger at Five Guys.

This is for a WHOLE burger, no cheating or sneaky rationalizations allowed. I will let him off the hook for the fries, because those are actually really bad for you.
