1 of 1 or POP 1 Tuesday

I just got my newest purchase thanks to board member burke23. It is a brilliant SGC 98 GEM 10 '79 Ozzie Newsome Rookie. It is the only SGC 10 in the world and there are also 0 PSA 10's or BVG 9.5's or 10's. This card originally sold for $2500 in '08 but significantly less in '09. It's without a doubt one of the best looking cards I've ever owned. There is just something about having the only "1" of something. Post some of your POP 1's or 1/1's in this thread.

Glad you got safely. Should you get a 10, please contact fightfordc - owner of the #1 football HOF registry set - and name your price. You will not be disappointed. Bypass the auction houses and ebay - it will save you time and money.
Looking for rare Randy Moss rookies and autos, as well as '97 PMG Red Football cards for my set.

    Congratulations Thomas!

It's a superb card. I get the idea you're gonna send it off to PSA? If so - good luck.

    I don't own a POP 1 anything - so I'll have to pass.

But I do appreciate a sweet card.

    Thanx for sharing

  • Both of these were pop 1's when subbed. Murphy is now a pop 2. Can't remember who subbed the second one but it was a forum member.

nice job senileman, i had my eye on that Beckert, but i chickened out.....it slightly exceeded my threshold, so well done........Tommy here's a group of wunna wuns for ya, since i've always been a Fred Taylor fan and encouraged my son to collect his cards, he wound up with a few good ones.....each of these examples is not only the best of the best, but each is currently the ONLY graded example, which means that either these cards are AMAZINGLY RARE!!!!!!......or no one else besides us really gives a dang.....i'm hoping it's the latter, so they will continue to be wunna wuns. image.....pardon the scanner dust, etc. these shiny cards just don't scan that well.

Will be on eBay soon for Ryan Registry fanatics.

I had a 1 of 1 PSA 9 (no tens) from 65 Topps baseball. Sold it for a grand, and now have it in PSA 8.5 that I have 10 bucks invested in. No regrets.

is that a psa flip error?
  • A couple years ago, I was the proud owner of the only 1987 Topps Jerry Rice BGS 9.5. As far as I know, that's the only time I've ever owned a POP 1 of any card.

I struck while the iron was hot and put it up for auction on EBay. I think I got something like $60. image

Nope, the backside is French- never seen another '90 OPC, so I never thought about it.

This is truly a 1 of 1, so don't let the grade fool you (no other White Background has EVER been graded higher than a PSA 4). The White Backgrounds in the 1948 Leaf are next to impossible to find and only a few are cataloged. I've seen about 16-17 different ones and have never seen 2 of any card with the White Background... This one is still not cataloged and thus, is not identified as a White Background by PSA.

  • Awesome Newsome card.

I have quite a few pop 1 PSA 10's in my Saberhagen and Young registry sets, I imagine only a dozen or so outside of those sets. I might also have 50-60 1 of 1's, not sure. I started stocking them in my eBay store about six months ago. Anyway, thought I would share my Tony Gonzalez 1 of 1's. The list here talked me into buying the Superfractor a few months ago. Seems I find one about once a week since.

    Just had two 1 of 1 -- Pop 1s "pop" today . . .

2 1 16457116 MINT 9 1966 EAST HILLS PIRATES 34 AL McBEAN PIRATES Card US
3 1 16457117 GEM MINT 10 1966 EAST HILLS PIRATES 12 JERRY MAY PIRATES Card US

I'll post scans when they arrive -- and FYI -- both (among several other Pirates regionals) are offered for sale.
