Does anyone collect original photos?
I have recently picked up a few recently at very reasonable prices that I couldn't pass up. My favorites have to be the Foxx, Cronin, and Terry photo from the 1933 All Star game and of course the 1934 Mickey Cochrane/Babe Ruth photo. The Ruth/Cochrane photo has a date of 7/14/34 on the back. I did a little research and found that on that date Babe Ruth hit his 700th home run off of Tommy Bridges as the Yankees defeated the Tigers. I also like the Charlie Gehringer photo with Ty Cobb shaking his hand.

Great looking photos. I have always been concerned about "original" part of original photos. I have never been skilled enough at understanding how to evaluate them in that context.
Collecting Tony Perez PSA and Rookie Baseball PSA
I am right there with you on that subject. However, I felt fairly safe on these since they were from the archives of the Detroit News. I was able to see the backs prior to purchasing and most have vintage stamps on the back.
My small collection
Want List:
'61 Topps Roy Campanella in PSA 5-7
Cardinal T206 cards
Adam Wainwright GU Jersey
<< <i>The Ted Williams pic looks a ton like another Boston great, musician Jonathan Richman ....
I've been a fan of Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers for more than 20 years -- way before There's Something About Mary -- thanks for making two of my favorites collide.
(I'm such a fan, that we played 'When She Kisses Me' at my wedding when we entered the room!)
I don't collect them - do pick one up from time to time if they relate to something else I'm collecting.
E.g. I picked up this photo of Pres. Hoover at the '29 WS:
It goes with this Hoover letter to the Pres. of the NL:
I do have a few wire photos - don't know where they are.
The coolest of the photos are the news service photos - they're reproduced and distributed to newspapers, wire service and magazines - thus a "primary" source photo.
I noticed that David Cycleback added a PDF on Judging Photographs.

I had the song "When I say wife" on my wedding album
I have a set of original news service prints from the 1927 world series and the Tunney-Dempsey long count fight. I also have more than 1,000 original prints (with the team photographer's stamp on the back) of my beloved 1960s Chargers. Great stuff of Jack Kemp, Lance Alworth, Paul Lowe, Ernie Ladd, Sid Gillman and the rest!
Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's
'I'm Straight' has to be one of the best songs ever written, even if it is a VU ripoff.
<< <i>I'm in shock - not one but TWO board members who know and appreciate the greatness that is Jonathan Richman.

I bet there are board members who know JR songs, but didn't know it was him. If you have little kids, you've seen this one on Sesame Street:
