Stopped by the B&M

Loaded for bear. He was closed (we got 5 or 6 inches of snow last night, he lives outside of town). image

So I reluctantly went to the gross B&M down the street where I got the JM 10 oz a few days ago for $165.

Silver's down since then, so I figured I should be able to buy at least at that price if not lower.

She was checking the price of silver when I came in the door, said it's $15.47. I said:

great. What's the best you can do on more 10 oz bars?

$179.95.

image

...

No. Really.

$179.95. I know what I have in them.

Ok, thanks.

Loaded for bear and nobody wants my greenbacks.

The same happened to me yesterady.
I was ready to spend 400 bucks in silver and maybe some fractional gold.
He had just few fractional silver bars (he doubled the premium and I think he didn't show me what he had in his vault).
No 2010 gold, no sealed silver bars, no 2010 ASEs.

I spent only $100 for the small bars.

My wife was happy, I wasn't. image

We've been trying to buy some for the store. Right now our cost is $160 per.

Harumph. I just pulled the trigger on 50 1-oz silvertowne bars. If I used cashback right (my first time), I *think* I got them for $16.45 each, delivered.

Just once in my life, I want to hear this from the flipside of the equation. As in, I walk into the local B&M and ask how much for 10oz silver bars, and he goes "$79.95", and I go "no, really?", and then he goes, "I bought all these at $6 silver, I know what I have into them".

LOL @ gecko. I don't think that's ever going to happen. But then again, I can't see me walking into a B&M and offering to sell lower than their offer knowing I bought at $6 or $7 image

Thanks, Bobk. I'm sure there are those on the board who could bend time and ebay bucks and zingerdoodle cash and slammmmmoney or whatever else those programs are and gotten paid to take the bars off the seller's hands. But if it works I'm satisfied. Pulled down my basis on the last 50 ounces I bought, anyway. image
