Tradedollarnut - This is a PCGS web site. Don't you agree that you should have said which holder each coin is in before we started to guess the grades ?
After all there are at least two different standards in grading coins in PCGS vs. NGC holders ?
Can you imagine trying to take the PCGS grading challenge with some coins in NGC holders ?
Isn't it a stretch of anyones imagination to call the 1794 Large Cent and the 1837 half dollar an ms 67 ?
How about on the next guessing game you state whether the coin is NGC or PCGS ?
The only wrong guess I made was to say the Colts would win ... and it is still haunting me
Stewart
BTW Congratulations on the CAC sticker on the 1807 quarter. I believe it is the only 67 in the group WITH a CAC sticker.

Stewart, I was unaware that PCGS and NGC have different standards for every coin, as you seemed to imply. Thanks for the head's up.

No - because it was patently obvious to anyone paying attention what holders they were in. In fact, it was even discussed that the 1837 half was in an NGC holder.
<< <i>After all there are at least two different standards in grading coins in PCGS vs. NGC holders ? >>
IMO, there are at least two different standards in grading coins in PCGS and NGC holders - depending upon when they were graded!
<< <i>Can you imagine trying to take the PCGS grading challenge with some coins in NGC holders ? >>
We weren't taking the PCGS grading challenge. But honestly I think I'd have done better since when I missed, I missed high.
<< <i>Isn't it a stretch of anyones imagination to call the 1794 Large Cent and the 1837 half dollar an ms 67 ? >>
Not in my opinion. I like the 1794 better than the MS69 [ ] and I bought the 1837 in that holder
<< <i>How about on the next guessing game you state whether the coin is NGC or PCGS ? >>
How about in the next guessing game you look to see if the holder is clear or white?

Even Laura is right twice a year.

To your knowledge have the others ever been submitted ?
Considering how sharp Stewart is and how well he did, despite how little attention he apparently paid to the images/holders, I'm wondering if he just guessed without even looking?
Did you leave any nice ones for anyone else at the show? >>
TDN, those are some great coins!
Thank you for sharing, and letting the rest of us get a few too. Here are a few of my Long Beach newps (five cents worth from one show back -- didn't make it to this one), all photo'd raw in case anyone would care to guess the grades (and/or grading service):

WOW
Great coins TDN
I am glad a coin guy owns them.
Will you ever agree with me with what I say ????
I agree with you that your 1794 is a better coin than the 1793 graded ms 69.
I like to grade coins and not plastic. I know you do too !
Laura is correct a lot more than twice a year ..... and I'll bet you agree with me.

Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
LOVE the 1837 half dollar!
Hopefully TDN will post more of his "special coins" in the near future.
