Has anyone ever have the ID picture change by itself. I logged on this evening and my picture is now of a penny. No idea how that happened.

It didn't change by itself. Someone changed the image for the "author icon" that you chose

Yes, that happened to me this summer. I used to have a picture of Bobby Cox smoking a cigar and then poof, the next day I became a coin of some sort. I don't remember if it was the same penny you have now, but it was definitely a coin. I figured that the picture I used was trademarked or something and it got pulled.

I still don't get it. Are you saying that other people can change your icon?

if it was a nickel before - put it down to inflation - the dollar is sinking ...

The only problem I've had was when my avatar (the SD Chargers' lightning bolt), changed to the dreaded Red X over a year ago. Aparently, someone at CU deleted it

That stinks, I looked throught the list of all the pictures and could not find it at all. At least i got rid of the penny and put ralphy on. Not as good as the vader NYY logo but it will have to do.

For some reason not all avatars get saved to the icon list. If yours wasnt saved and you adjusted anything in your user profile it will reset to the penny icon. The penny icon is the very first one on the list, and the default it seems.

You'll have to reload it again on the 15th.

The avatar that I uploaded this month disappeared the next day. it was the same one I'm using now, but I put a Santa hat on him. The following day, it was a penny.
