What do you do with raw NM 1957-1963 BB Commons?

I have a client who has about 1,000 commons (and a few minor stars) that would probably grade between 6.5 and 7.5.

I am worried that raw they will be very hard to sell. However, it's an expense to get them graded and processed.

Since I mostly do coins, I need to come up with a solution.

One thing we will do if we send them in is try real hard to cull the cards which will not "7."

Any thoughts,

Greg

I will talk to my friend. He currently is looking for information, but I have a way of getting him a bit motivated to move stuff.

    Thanks,

IMO, it isn't worth getting them graded. Sell them raw on eBay individually (in runs by year). If there are cards 8 or higher, I would grade those.

How much do you want for them as is now?
  • I think there's a lot of interest in mid-grade cards from those years. Single out the ones that you consider the best conditions and decide how many you can afford to get graded.
  • Sell them in lots broken down by year. If any of them are closer to the vg-ex range than nm don't expect anything more than 50-cents per card. For 1 000 of them it's still a good bit of change

I have a dad who has about 1,000 coins in his cash register and safe (and a few minor bills) that would probably grade between 6.5 and 7.5.

    OK - GAME ON!!!

    Get your paddles out!

Nevermind what they cost, nevermind what they're worth...

These cards have ONE owner - never been driven over 35 mph and ONLY to church on Sunday - they have been tucked away in a vault and have not seen daylite, moonlite, flashlite or Israelite!

Let's start the bidding at 100 bucks!!!

'57s in PSA 7 are worth grading. So are '59 high #s and '62 high #s. I'm not sure if any others are worth grading by series. Also, very low pop 8s will do all right as 7s (e.g., '62 George Witt).

I think if you broke them down by year and put them on the b/s/t you would have no problem selling them. (Plus no ebay fees)

I will give someone a run for their money on the 1960 Topps image

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)
