What do I do with a large amt. of Sterling

I recently came into a pretty good amount of sterling silver serving peices. Some old cream and sugar sets and that sort of thing. What I need to know is what do I do with it ? Is there a market for it in it's present state? Should I send it somewhere and have it melted? I know if I take it to my B&M store I will get shafted royally. Any help guys?
BTW, I've been off line for several weeks and it seems like a lot of things have changed so if I step out of line, someone please let me know before I get banished to the netherworld.
Thanks guys. (and gals )

While the premium on most patterns has disappeared with the rise in silver, you just never know...
For common stuff, expect anywhere between 80% and 84% of spot silver depending upon total weight.
I've personally used them, you get a check fast and they are paying 90% of sterling. In my opinion, you can't go wrong.
I think I will call Midwest refineries tomorrow.
Its a shame to melt some of this stuff but you got to do what you got to do.
Some of it is really old and really nice.
Thanks again .

That works out to 83¼% of spot less shipping. Could prolly net close to that at most local shops.

I'd rather do business with a local guy and build some rapport in a business relationship than to support the scandalous ebay fee structure.
I knew it would happen.

I'm with these two... I'm a bit of a sterling collector myself.

I have to go to town and use a friends DSL as I have the dreaded "diia up" at home.

Thanks for the great advice guys.
Have you tried taking these to a antique dealer? Might get more from them as what if some are collectible and rare? Try that and if they don't offer much then send it to midwestrefineries and get it melted.
Many members on this forum that now it cannot fit in my signature. Please ask for entire list.
