Three players in the history of the game retired after he had a season with 450+ PAs and an OPS+ greater than 140. Who are they? Hint-all are well known, and all began their careers after WWII.

This was easier than I thought-or did you look it up? BTW Gaspar missed the cut. I got Bonds and Clark, but was surprised my Mantle. He hit only.237 his last year and was widely considered to be washed up when he retired. However, it was an extreme year for pichers, and he walked more than 100 times. He was 2nd or 3rd (can't remember) in the league in OBP, despite the low BA.
  • The people that call Mickey Mantle overrated because his career average is below .300, need not apply as a member of a good baseball discussion.

Are you sure about that five minutes!?
  • The way it is worded Harry Heilmann would qualify. Retired after 1930, although returned for a few games in 1932

For an obscure name who just missed we see Dutch Zwilling of the Federal League

Zwilling is better known as the last man aplhabetically to play professional baseball. His career equivalent of two full major league seasons in the FL, and the equivalent of a September's callup in PA in the ML was quite brief..

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
  • joe jackson - 173 ops+ in final 1920 season

    happy felsch - 144 ops+ in final 1920 season

both, though, did not quite retire as they were banned by the commissioner
