    << <i>Oh...

I see the Wilt in that account, I expected to see it in the BST thread. My apologies for not looking into another users Photbucket account.

Still does not change the fact that it is fake.

    Bill,

Do you want to take up my offer on doubling your money? >>

Uh, the Seller provided his photobucket account for pictures of the collection he was selling. Considering the purchase was for over 200 cards, did you expect him to post every single picture?

Again, you assumed the worst and called out a respected member without doing any research.

Because of the circumstances, if I was Bill, not a chance in hades would I accept your "bet".

Personally, I would wait for the quick opinion before doing anything. If it comes back as fake, I would cancel the auction and take it as a loss. If it comes back as legit, would provide PSA's opinion and increase the price 4-fold, thanks to DrJ.

    image >>

That is no excuse for selling fakes. 200 cards is nothing to look through a determine something is fake.

    << <i>man up >>

Is that related to "cowboy up"?

Either way, the phrase is used by people who wish they could.

<< <i>I'm not taking your stupid proposal.

However, if PSA/DNA says it is likely not authentic, I will take the auction down and relist on the BST forum here. It can be a live auction and anyone willing to take a chance that it is actually authentic can bid. The proceeds from the sell will then be donated to Stown's Race for the Cure campaign.

And, just because that's the way I roll, if it is deemed authentic I will still auction it off here in a live auction and donate half the proceeds to the same charity. >>

    Mucho gracias, mi amigo.

Just for clarification, that would be the MS150 or LIVESTRONG.

Bill is a straight shooter. I dont think he needs to defend himself.
This should never have been posted publicly.

    3. Forum Member "G" pays for a PSA/DNA opinion, while J should have done that before, but was too cheap.
    4. J accuses B of pretending that the card in question was not in the lot that was purchased on the BST Forum.
    5. Turns out it was on the BST Forum
    6. J gives a half-rear ended apology and creates a puff of smoke with an offer to bet.

You and everyone on this forum with common sense should be intelligent enough to realize that you are wrong and there is enough evidence to prove it.

No matter what I say, you will come up with an immature response to further prove that you are a (never mind)
  • So now you want to sell the card here on this site even if fake?

Gumby and Bill, I have made offers to both of you.

Are you going to take the $100 challenge, or come up with some excuse about not wanting to take the challenge to prove a point that no one comprehends?

Got to love it when a known scammer tries to add something to this post. Illinifan912, should I refresh the post where you selling a trimmed Brooks Robinson RC? Should I refresh the post where you sold on EBAY what was supposed to be a PSA 10 Kobe Bryant Chrome, using the picture of a PSA 9. And guess what, the buyer got the PSA 9. You have absolutely NO business even commenting on this thread. oh yea!

Let's not forget a FAKE is a FAKE.

It does not matter where the card came from, whether it was the BST forum or found in the dumpster. The seller is responsible for his goods.

    Bill

I am waiting for YOU to take the bet. Step up to the plate and put your money where your mouth is. Otherwise trying to come up with excuses or some other ploy to hide the FAKE is as expected.

No skin in the game for me, as I don't really know either of you, but:

    1) It seems to me that Bill DID man up with his offer. He just didn't choose to reward you for your approach should it be fake.
    2) If your approach did not include a PM directly to Bill prior to this thread, and if Bill has neither a history of ethical issues or a history of falsely accusing others, then you're a tool for taking this public approach first.

That being said, this smells to high holy hell of some sort of payback attempt or grudge.

No grudge with Bill. Just don't like to see fellow collector's cheated as Joe Orlando would say. It does not matter how many posts you have on this board or anywhere else. We can not tolerate fakes and excuses in this hobby, as there are too many bad guys.

After my original post all Bill had to say is I see it is fake and the auction is gone. Instead he has continued to push his fakes and will not take the challenge coming up with an EXCUSE that he bought it on the BST forum, which I still cannot figure out what that has to do with selling a fake Auto in his own eBay store.

Justin, You handled this with pure class. Why in the world would you call out Bill or anyone else for that matter in a thread, when you could easily have Pm'd the seller and handled via PM's. Bill posted a freaking link to PSA/DNA quick opinion in the auction. In my opinion he has done absolutely nothing wrong.

Not saying Bill is a scammer, but the typical eBay raw auto MO is place a link to a qucik opinion service to add legitamcy to an auction, making the seller look like he has confidence in his goods.

All Bill has to do is take that bad boy down or take the challenge.

This pulling up of members' eBay accounts in an attempt to throw them under the bus seriously needs to stop. This is something that should have been discussed through PM first, but of course, it was not.

What people sell is their business. Bill didn't physically sign Wilt's name to that card and he assumes it is real. Just as I didn't make fake Gretzky cards. I bought them years ago and put them on eBay as "reprints" (which BTW, PSA recognizes the "counterfeit" as it has been called by many here, a "reprint". Counterfeit or reprint or whatever I should have been contacted first through PM, before a thread was started about me.

Bill - I'm not associating you with the Gretzky fiasco which took place, but there is nothing wrong with your auction. You honestly believe that the Wilt is real, you did your research before listing a price, and most importantly it is the buyer's responsibilty to educate themselves in the hobby this is why PSA offers servives like "quick opinion" to assist customers who need help.

Another thing - Bill is a good guy. I would like to think I'm a pretty good guy too. If someone bought Bill's Wilt and sent it to PSA and 2-3 months from now sent him a message that it didn't pass we all KNOW he would refund the person...that's the big difference between scammers and good guys.

This is FAR different from known scammers, pack re-sealers, western union lovers, et cetera.

And once again, the "sport" of throwing people under the bus here has to stop.

Yeah, ignore option 3 which is wait for the Quick Opinion, which in case you hadn't noticed is the option he took.

I sure hope it comes back likely good from PSA/DNA. Of course, that won't be good enough for the kid. He'll demand that it's sent to JSA before he'll believe it's real. Again, I have no idea whether it's genuine or not, but I obviously wasn't as cheap as the Paperboy who didn't pay the $7.49 but instead called out Bill here on the forum.
