I see the Wilt in that account, I expected to see it in the BST thread. My apologies for not looking into another users Photbucket account.
Still does not change the fact that it is fake.
Bill,
Do you want to take up my offer on doubling your money? >>
Uh, the Seller provided his photobucket account for pictures of the collection he was selling. Considering the purchase was for over 200 cards, did you expect him to post every single picture?
Again, you assumed the worst and called out a respected member without doing any research.
Because of the circumstances, if I was Bill, not a chance in hades would I accept your "bet".
Personally, I would wait for the quick opinion before doing anything. If it comes back as fake, I would cancel the auction and take it as a loss. If it comes back as legit, would provide PSA's opinion and increase the price 4-fold, thanks to DrJ.
>>
That is no excuse for selling fakes. 200 cards is nothing to look through a determine something is fake.
However, if PSA/DNA says it is likely not authentic, I will take the auction down and relist on the BST forum here. It can be a live auction and anyone willing to take a chance that it is actually authentic can bid. The proceeds from the sell will then be donated to Stown's Race for the Cure campaign.
And, just because that's the way I roll, if it is deemed authentic I will still auction it off here in a live auction and donate half the proceeds to the same charity. >>
Mucho gracias, mi amigo.

Let's not forget a FAKE is a FAKE.
It does not matter where the card came from, whether it was the BST forum or found in the dumpster. The seller is responsible for his goods.

No skin in the game for me, as I don't really know either of you, but:
1) It seems to me that Bill DID man up with his offer. No grudge with Bill. Just don't like to see fellow collector's cheated as Joe Orlando would say. It does not matter how many posts you have on this board or anywhere else. We can not tolerate fakes and excuses in this hobby, as there are too many bad guys.
After my original post all Bill had to say is I see it is fake and the auction is gone. Instead he has continued to push his fakes and will not take the challenge coming up with an EXCUSE that he bought it on the BST forum, which I still cannot figure out what that has to do with selling a fake Auto in his own eBay store.
Justin, You handled this with pure class. Why in the world would you call out Bill or anyone else for that matter in a thread, when you could easily have Pm'd the seller and handled via PM's. Bill posted a freaking link to PSA/DNA quick opinion in the auction. In my opinion he has done absolutely nothing wrong.

This pulling up of members' eBay accounts in an attempt to throw them under the bus seriously needs to stop. This is something that should have been discussed through PM first, but of course, it was not.
What people sell is their business. Bill didn't physically sign Wilt's name to that card and he assumes it is real. Just as I didn't make fake Gretzky cards. I bought them years ago and put them on eBay as "reprints" (which BTW, PSA recognizes the "counterfeit" as it has been called by many here, a "reprint". Counterfeit or reprint or whatever I should have been contacted first through PM, before a thread was started about me.
Bill - I'm not associating you with the Gretzky fiasco which took place, but there is nothing wrong with your auction. You honestly believe that the Wilt is real, you did your research before listing a price, and most importantly it is the buyer's responsibilty to educate themselves in the hobby this is why PSA offers servives like "quick opinion" to assist customers who need help.
Another thing - Bill is a good guy. I would like to think I'm a pretty good guy too. If someone bought Bill's Wilt and sent it to PSA and 2-3 months from now sent him a message that it didn't pass we all KNOW he would refund the person...that's the big difference between scammers and good guys.
