Have you purchased or sold gold bullion in the last 3 weeks? If so, please post whether you bought or sold and if you are willing, please provide an idea as to the quantity involved.
The reason I ask this question relates to something I was told by my local B&M. He said that until several weeks ago his store had an almost equal distribution between buyers and sellers of gold. However, that has now changed and he has more people coming in to sell than to buy. However, he also finds that the individual buyers are purchasing larger amounts of gold whereas the individual sellers are selling smaller amounts of gold.
I am always interested in market sentiment. I know that the results from a single B&M are not representative of the marketplace. That is why I am asking this question to a large and geographically diversified group.
Thanks,
Planchet

I bought 2 GAE proofs right before Christmas. One was a $10 1/4oz piece and the other was a $25 1/2oz piece.
QDB made an interesting comment regarding your question in his CW column recently. Read the first full paragragh displayed. (Courtesy of Coin World Magazine)
Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
I knew it would happen.

When I see the price of gasoline go up (six cents this week) while the price of gold is even or slightly down- I buy.
I think gold is a bargain as I look forward (without looking too much in the rearview mirror at past prices).

Dont you mean:
"Saving my cash until it turns into dirt"???
The asking price was $475 for the $10 piece and $875 for the $25. I had a $50 off coupon so I got both pieces for $1312 delivered.
Not cheap but these proofs have been bringing strong money for some time and I thought the price was very fair.
An NEN purchase.

<< <i>Sold an MS65 $20 Saint in the past 2 weeks. Will sell last 1oz proof Buffalo next. I like to only have GAE's, no numsimatic gold coins. Plan to buy more silver throughout the next few months....if the price would kindly drop a few dollars, which I think it will this month.
That's my post for this year.
