Double check your 'found' change piles before cashing them in!

Today I began the winter job of sorting through all of the common coins to cash in.

To my surprise I found:
-13 additional Wheat cents not accounted for previously - no idea how I missed them all (edited to add, oops, found two more, make that 15)
--but more surprisingly - a 1945P Wartime Nickel

Just wish I knew where they all were found and how I could miss them all. So please, double check your coins before cashing them in.

This raises my wheat total for the year to 216
And my silver coin total to 51

Can these count toward my January coin totals? image

I have found wheaties after I have finished dumbling them. Many times they are so muddy or dirty that I guess they just didn't get checked close enought. I did find an 1864 IHC that way and like you said "I wonder where I found that one?" image

You tend to be reluctant to 'rub hard' on those cruddy coins. They could be key and scratches will deteriorate them more. I just put them in the pouch and wait til an opportunity comes up to gently rinse them. Cheers, RickO
  • I have not found one till now, hoping to find soon... Since you found yesterday you can add them to Jan total..
