Not that any Eagles - Cowboys game ever needs any hype, but this one is big. Home field advantage and having a first round bye historically is a big factor in the playoffs. A big game that got even bigger. Bring it on...............................

    B. Westbrooks has a soft melon, almost Trent Green like, and he single handedly cost me a playoff birth in fantasy football this year.

Always looking for original, better date VF20-VF35 Barber quarters and halves, and a quality beer.

  • Dallas needs a Vikes and Cards loss to get the second seed, even if they beat the Eagles.

Romo runs for his life and puts up some decent passing stats on a somewhat soft Eagles secondary.

Eagles maintain the surprisingly balanced offense of the last six games.

  • +1 for post padding
  • Vick didn't practice today. Quad bruise they say. Missed playing against Denver.

Think Reid has been known to play the Patriots game on injury lists.

Vick had a few good plays in the last two games and seems to be getting better as the season goes on.

I think Reid has been sandbagging with him and has a few good plays up his sleeve for the last game and the playoffs.

Eh, unless there's still a chance of Dallas getting a bye (I think the Giants will lose and they play before Dallas), I don't see how they have much to play for. If they win, they'll probably just have to play the Eagles again the next week in the playoffs. If they lose, they could draw Az in the wildcard game. They'd be on the road, but they have a lot of fans there anyway.

I predict the Eagles will win big, gain the confidence of their fans and media, and then go one and done in the playoffs.

Attention Cowboys fans...get ready to feel the pain today - I suggest you should have plenty of Vicodin on hand to help relieve the pain symptoms after the game, especially from the broken foot gotten from kicking the TV set.

Apperantly there was a typo. I fixed it for you.

  • Minny taking the Giants to the cleaners.

There goes the Cowboys chance for a bye.

One hour to post time. Still time for Cowboys fans to run to the drugstore.

  • Vick listed as emergency QB for the game which means he cannot play until the 4th without effecting McNabb and Kolb's status.

Can he play RB or receiver without a problem or does he have to play QB only?

I'm not up on these details.

Eagles D looks like it's in pre-season mode. Where are all the complicated blitz packages? Doesn't make any sense--if they win they don't have to play Dallas next week.

it makes sense if you think that the eagles dont think this game matters, that they're "holding back" for the 3rd game. you dont want to blow yer tactical load sometimes. that being said, this win is 100000% more important to the eagles and they're defense looks like they've looked for most of the year against good oppoents: like caca
  • Really sucks, live in Balt/Wash suburbs, and am being punished with Redskins game. Have been enjoying Ravens game but come on, show a game that means something. I think even Redskin fans would rather watch the Cowboys/Eagles game at this point in season.
  • lawnmowermanlawnmowerman Posts: 19,477 ✭✭✭✭

The Eagles have plenty to gain if they win this game. The NFC East title and a home playoff game.

They are not "holdng back". It's called getting beat.

  • Eagles win, they get 2nd seed. If they lose, they get 6th seed. Why would anyone think they wouldn't be giving it their all?

Where are Steve and all those other s that thought the eaglets would beat the COWBOYS?

    That sure was easy!

I wish I knew who to thank for playing McBarf instead of Vick!!!

McBarf has always been a loser and always will be!

The Eagles are an excellent football team but just didn't have it today.

It's now a bit tougher road to the Super Bowl for the Eagles but that road is still open and the Eagles will move forward...today was only a flat tire...that will be repaired and the Eagles will get going again.

cowboys looks great, eagles made every mistake in the book and it was still essentially a 17-0 game where it easily could have been closer.

we'll see what happens. the cowboys just held service... the eagles effectively get a mulligan on the first tee. (to utterly mix my metaphors) we'll see if they can make good on the second life...

Agreed - the Eagles just looked flat out there today - just one of those games. Better to get it out the way now than having it happen in the playoffs. Eagles have proven in the past to bounce back very well from games such as this.

    Oh man image

Yeah, it had nothing to do with the Cowboy's defense.

You guys ever think that they looked "flat" because they were out-played in every facet of the game?

You guys are too much with the excuses.

The Eagles were out-played..and it's not even debatable.

The Iggles got worked yesterday and they're going to get worked again on Saturday. When you don't even try to run the football, you're going to lose.

Good teams bounce back strong from defeats such as that...the Eagles will come out smoking on Saturday.

    Hope is a poor strategy.

Good teams don't go out and piss the sheets when there's a lot at stake like the Eagles did yesterday. The Cowboys have out-physical'ed, out-hustled, and outplayed the Eagles twice this year. Pure and simple. In all seriousness, what do you expect to see them do differently this weekend? Is McNabb suddenly going to stop hitting receivers in the feet? Is DeSean going to suddenly develop yet a 6th gear to outpace his amazing 5th gear? I think you guys have more matchup problems than you can handle right now.

The only thing that concerns me about Saturday is the whole "beating a team 3 times" history. This is lining up a little too close to the scenario against the Giants in 2007 for my tastes.

That's fine. If the Cowboys lose, I'll be pissed but I sure wouldn't be here saying they played "flat" or make excuses about it.

The Eagles got beat. They didn't beat themselves.

Own it in victory and defeat.

Don't forget the Eagles are overall a young team - they didn't "turn it up" like they should have in Sunday's game...which is one main reason why they looked flat.

I say they will learn from that and turn it up for Saturday's game....if not then it'll be a long winter for Eagles fans.

Keep the excuses coming. This is getting quite humerous.

They looked flat because they were out played.

Once you admit that, you'll feel alot better

I'll give you fact that Ried is a better coach. I have NEVER liked Phillips the true bumb of the family.

BUT, as I have said all year "the eagletts are NOT that good. Just look at their games against good teams this year.

McBarf is a "never was" and "never will be".

Steve..............pick a better fan to root for. You will never be happy being a eagletts fan!

I picked the Cowboys back in 1960 and sure there has been some down years, but not many! I think they hold the record for most years in a row to make the playoffs, most Super Bowl appearences and except for Pittsburg, the most Super Bowl wins. We will win 7 before they do. We have the players. Romo is finally turning into a smart QB who reads defence and makes plays and does not make the stupid plays he used to. If he was taller I would put him right up there with Manning in talent.

I don't like the "beat the same team 3 times" thingy either. We were better than the giants in 2007, but the 3 times thing trumped that. The thing is we beat the eagletts worse this year that we did the giants in 2007.

The eagletts haven't scored on the Cowboys this year. 17-0 and 24-0!
