Hi Steve, good points and I would add that anyone here can feel free to verify the two messages I have sent to sportsmod, one in September and one in January 2008, and both had no reference to any username here, I give sportsmod or whoever else is a moderator my full consent for that.
I have known about the rule on the bumping and multiple posts for years since it has been the case on the coin sell board there for a long time and well known. Maybe that contributed to me making my comment in RB's post and a few others along the way that I responded about in my previous post.
Steve, you raise some good points. I'm inclined to agree with you, that's exactly why I did a quick thread so interested parties could go find the other threads without me bumping the other two and clogging up the board more. Oh well, I talked to Baxter about it we'll see that it doesn't happen again. I don't want to hurt anyone's feewings.
Whoa, what's this? Baxter just brought me a lamb chop. Right on!
Ron Burgundy
Buying Vintage, all sports. Buying Woody Hayes, Les Horvath, Vic Janowicz, and Jesse Owens autographed items
Ron Burgundy's threads are always interesting and well thought out. I enjoy reading them even if I do not purchase the cards.
I find that many (Note: not all, but many) BST posts are for readily available items that sell for less on E-Bay. It is often a waste of my time to read them.
Do posters really think readers (me) are that dumb or naive that we only read the top few posts/threads (whatever they're called)?
Do posters really believe that their items do not sell because they got pushed from the top spot on the BST Board? Now that's naive.
If people are worried about being bumped off page, I would ask what can be done about bumps for "nice card" or "nice lot", dont really understand that unless you are buying, selling or trading. I dont have a horse in this race since I have never attempted to sell anything on the board, but just wondering.

I don't think anyone is worried about being bumped as some of you appear to be claiming/noting. I just think it is courtesy. This is a rule that is part of EVERY sport card forum I know of. So regardless if you think it is rude or not, there is ample evidence to suggest others do think multiple postings is rude.
However, if anyone would like to start a petition, that will allow Ron to not follow simple rules that almost everyone else has no problem going along with, I am willing to sign it.

Explain to me how listing a bunch of cards for sale is interesting and well thought out. He freaking selling cards, not trying to entertain the masses with well thought out FOR SALE threads.
I will further note, that if drewset is Baxter, I think he is, then Ron should either, apologize for accusing him of something he has shown no evidence to support....or show evidence to support your claim. We should not be above making likely false accusations against fellow forum members....even if we are well liked here.

Matt - What can I say. The posts are entertaining and fun to read along with the responses he receives. In my real job, I do some marketing-type work to sell my professional services. I actually learn a few things from Ron's posts. If the idea is that we are all just selling a bunch of cards, then E-Bay is the most efficient forum. The fees are very nominal given the audience one is able to reach. I am sure that Ron can stick up for himself. I am just surprised at the number of people that have come down on him. - Kevin
I will be sure to locate the BST post i made 3 years ago so i can put the card i have for sale added to it
I may be out of line but courtesy isnt what i think about when i am selling something . The bottom line is i am looking for a profit by selling something .
Its like the time i sold something on Ebay and was contacted by a seller who was mad that i was selling something cheaper then him . I really dont care about his profit . Sorry to say this but business is cutthroat .
Besides , the way i view the moderators request on multiple post is not to post several different posts selling cards at once . It doesnt say anything about starting mutiple post over the course of a couple months. Petty Petty Petty
A collector of all things Braves Always looking for Chipper Jones cards. Im a very focused collector of cards from 1909 - 2012...LOL

I don't know how your eBay story has anything to do with this or relates.
I also don't think anyone is being petty for stating their opinion. It is the moderator that deleted the thread or threads of Ron. By this I would assume the moderator thought Ron was over the line. Meaning, your opinion on what the moderator thinks, do not match that of the action taken by the moderator. You are of course welcome to your opinion...and I won't even insult you for having one. But, let's try to avoid calling people petty or the like for different opinions.
Business can be cut throat. Courtesy does however have it's part, especially in a community setting like forums.

You are right that everyone is entitled to their opinions and i am not one to argue over ones opinion . I dont know if someones complaining led to the threads being deleted or it was the choice of the moderator . I still believe Burgandy wasnt known for abusing a request by the moderator that is actually open to interpretation in the first place .

Ron is a top notch guy in my book. I've had transactions for several hundred dollars that went totally smooth. I have a comment to make about multiple threads. If there are a couple of threads on the same page day after day because they keep getting bumped--it means they are popular threads. And in Ron's case his threads stay on the front page because he is usually selling quality vintage. I say sell away Ron. Give me multiple threads of great cards- I don't mind at all. More threads with great cards is what I'm looking for. I like to complain on some things but threads with great cards for sale is not one of them. Have a great holiday season Ron. When you get Mantles' Mays, or Aarons just PM me and forget the whole thread thing.
all of the people saying there is something wrong with what Burgundy did are "life" nits and shouldn't be allowed to play with all the normal kids. Seriously, how hard is it to just skip over or ignore the threads you don't want to see. The BST board is littered with all kinds of ebay spam nonsense that for the most part I don't want to see. Especially the idiots that make threads about their BIN's, lmao. Those clowns should pay an advertising fee for using the board as a vehicle for their stores.
But, I don't go and cry to the mods because I'm a big boy and can just choose to "not open" the threads I'm not interested in. How do these people survive in day to day life?
Bill, I was apparently typing while you were making the booger post, but mail one anyway. I'll put it on ebay with a buy it now of $399 and make a thread about it on the BST board.
Put your cards on the Vintage Sportcard Trading Forum. It will stay on page one at least a week. You could offer to trade your cards for so many Grants and Jacksons.

Buying Vintage, all sports.
Buying Woody Hayes, Les Horvath, Vic Janowicz, and Jesse Owens autographed items
pimping Ebay auctions endlessly
bumping threads endlessly without adding more cards for sale or showing what cards have been sold
creating multiple threads for single cards, or just a handful
What is not spam to me:
a new thread for a group of different cards offered more than one week from another thread with a completely different group of cards
a single listing promoting Ebay auctions ending soon, plus maybe a bump a few hours before the auction ends
a thread bump to show cards added or sold, or a bump for the weekday or weekend depending on when the thread started
This seems like common sense to me. I also think this is all Mintacular's fault.
