    Good Day,
I use the BIN/BO on FeeBay for the above reasons, as well as others. But also keep in mind it is a Double edged sword. I have an item (Set) listed in my Store for 10K with an automatic refusal of anything below 8K, recently (2 Months ago) some guy makes an offer of $7995.00. E-Bay auto turns it down, does not notify me in any way about the offer. Weeks later I am scrolling through my stuff and see that an offer was made. look it up and see it. I Would have taken the offer now, probably not when I listed, would have held out for 9K. Contacted the guy and he has spent his money, so I lost the Sale!

Good point about the double-edged sword.

Might just be me, but if I'm listing an item with a BIN/BO of $10K, I'm checking for traffic a lot more regularly than every few weeks. imageimage

I'm still learning how I want to work with that feature, but just saying it's not really a fault of the system. I'd set the auto-refusal wayyyy below what I'd "settle" for (like maybe $5K in this example) and just use it to reduce the REALLY silly offers, but still send me "close but not happening" ones.

You get a choice - send me all offers, even the silly ones, or do a brute-force cutoff for me to reduce the noise. You can't really have it both ways IMO.

When I'm buying, I see FAR too many BIN's that seem to be designed solely to trap a unwary buyer. Prices set WAY over VCP/SMR, qualifiers left out of the title and a price in line with a clean card, or just transparent attempts to get someone to make a BO that "seems" fair in relation to the BIN price, but ends up being above FMV when all is said and done. I knwo the fee structure makes that a good prop for the seller, but it annoys the crap out of me. Caveat Emptor I guess.

<< <i>I think the "make an offer" proposition lends itself more to items with a less clearly established value - T 206 Wagner - PSA 8 for example. >>

  • Geez people, if you are going to get your feelings hurt, stay off of the internet. People "say" things behind anonymity that they would never say in person. No one says every contact has to be a deal. Just stay away or "walk" away if you don't like it. Life is too short to worry about what someone says to you over the internet if (s)he's being a d!ck.

If they don't do things the way you like, find someone who does.

I think this is a good thread , with worthwhile respones. Would get more "action" on the BST board or the main board

In some cases "Make an Offer" is realistic. There may not be a set value for the item in its condition, or it may be so rare that its been years since the last one sold.

  • I'm not talking about "make an offer" on EBAY.
I'm talking when somebody knows that you need a card and then call you or email and ask for an offer.
( I have the card that you need, how much you pay, make me an offer).
I am always buying 1972 Puerto Rican League Stickers, 1948-49 Toleteros, 1949-50 Toleteros and 1950-51 Toleteros. e-mail pajoyeros@coqui.net
