The seller's ID indicates mostly cheap-card buys --- one expensive
graded pack.
He also likes police scanners. And, he is "religious."
I wouldn't be busting his auction .... I would literally WIN it .... with intentions of taking the loss myself to save someone else from losing his money at Christmas time.

It is doubtful that the seller is subject to routine PayPal holds, due
to his registration date. But, you would still win a SNAD and get a
refund.
Really no need to burn money on purpose.
Assuming the seller is well aware of the actual value or lack of value why reward him? Also you may intend to win but still be beat out and increase the amount this person walks away with. Also success for this seller would be an incentive for additional auctions by him and others. It would be great to do something to put a stop to this activity and this board does a lot in that regard. I don't have the answer to completely put a stop to it and as long as there is profit in criminal and near criminal behavior it will always be a part of life.

I really value and appreciate your input. There ARE a few local charities that I support throughout the year and especially at Christmastime.
My favorite is Children's Hospital where my daughter-in-law works as an RN. There's no better feeling in the world than to see an ailing child's face light up when they receive an unexpected gift.
But, sometimes I get a bit crazy and just feel like doing something out of the ordinary. This is one of those times.
A few years ago, while I was visiting a friend in Miami, we stopped to have breakfast at a cozy little restaurant. When our waitress approached our table, she looked kind of nervous. I asked her what was wrong. She told me that her daughter was sick and couldn't go to school, so she had to take her to her grandmother's house. Hurrying to get to work, she was pulled over by a cop and received a $125 speeding ticket. Now she was going to be late with her rent payment. When we left .... I gave the young girl $125 and told her to keep her chin up.
Do I miss the $125? Not in the least. Did I make a difference in someone's life? I hope so!
I've thought about what Ralph is suggesting from many different angles .... maybe the seller is a crook and I would be helping him get more for his deceptiveness; maybe he's legit and I'll do okay; .... what really matters to me is that I will prevent someone else from losing his/her hard-earned money on this auction.
I might just go ahead with this deal .... if I'm wrong, I'll blame my son for egging me on. If I'm right .... yea me!

As far as the X-Mas Pack I wouldnt feed into this guys auction one bit, what if your high bid pushes the amount up alot more than what it would have sold for if you had not bid? Im not sure this guy should be rewarded for selling this item, more than likely a non informed bidder is going through a rolodex in his mind in how to make money off these cards anyways.
You have no idea how much money the person who would win the auction has. For all you know he has more money than brains.
If you want, give the winning amount to a charity. Or, some fastfood type restaurants have tip cups out these days do something there.
The local Dunkin Donuts here where I live has them out and I have been giving the girl a 10.00 bill each day for my 3.11 tab.
I did it last year too.
Thses are the people that could use extra money.

In answer to the question as to whether there are/were good cards in these packs the answer is yes there are occasionally star cards in the packs but the condition is uniformly poor from what I have read and seen.

While the seller may not be intentionally deceptive, he is misleading potential buyers by 1) suggesting that there may be a Mantle or Mays among the 6 hidden cards (there isn't) and 2) claiming the cards are NMMT to Mint (they're not).
What the buyer is getting is a small stack of mid-grade commons worth $50 at most.
My vote is to win the auction and file the SNAD.
That's what I'm sayin.

I know of no way to e-mail bidders. Also, that is likely illegal in most states and against eBay rules.
If a person had one of those repacks they could put it in the store for like $100,000 so it would not sell and tell the real story behind them. Other then that I would not suggest policing or the like.
