This whole Gretzky debacle is one of the main reasons PSA cleaned the forum up.
When I was a kid I put together several '79 OPC Hockey sets (without Gretzky cards, of course).
About 10 years ago (when I was much younger and didn't fully understand the counterfeit card market and scams) I bought a stack of what were advertised as "reprints" (actually counterfeits, but I didn't understand the difference between a reprint and counterfeit) from someone online to put in these sets.
The leftovers I offered here on the BST forum.
This is where it all started. -- Barf picked up on it and nearly everybody hounded me.
For months and months and months I was harassed via the message boards for this. Then group members began calling my place of work. After that they began calling the corporate offices making complaints about me. My employer kept me through most of it but eventually had a sit down with me and had to let me go because it was "too much"
And let's not forget the harassment board members gave my FATHER at his place of work.
Not a HUGE deal since I didn't have anybody but myself to support at the time, being in college, but the lengths board members made to hurt me was truly disgusting and I guess this is why I have some "beef" with people here bully others.
It's disgusting that you would bring this up, five years later Snorto.
The fact is: I didn't do anything wrong. And I really could care less what you, or anybody else, here thinks about it or me. I'm enjoying life, getting back into collecting PSA cards (after which you and other board members BULLIED me away from the hobby).

Yeah, no, not exactly. At the crux of this is the fact you were selling fake Gretzky's without disclosing it. When busted, you said you would stamp them as such going forward. But you didn't. The ironic thing is that your ever changing excuses (I didn't know! I wasn't clear on counterfeit vs. replica)! Hey, I was busted on another forum, so it shouldn't count here!) make your intentions clearer than anything others have said.

IF people were harassing you, your family, or employer that's beyond messed up. But that's a pretty big "if" as you are prone to fits of melodrama... perhaps the English Lit major in you? That said, it's odd I never heard either of these stories before, not even so much as hinted at, by you who is so quick to identify yourself a victim?
Did people give you a hard time on here, yup. This community is a close one and doesn't take well to those who aim to defraud it or the larger hobby.
<< <i>It's disgusting that you would bring this up, five years later Snorto. >>
I prefer to reserve the term "disgusting" for the most egregious of affronts... such as knowingly trying to pass off fakes... or making "lowball" offers on eBay maybe?
<< <i>The fact is: I didn't do anything wrong. >>
Well now, if that ain't just Mullins in a nutshell.

Snorto, I didn't do anything wrong because it wasn't done maliciously. I never made counterfeits and when I sold the ones I bought I sincerely didn't mean for there to be any harm done to anybody. That was TEN YEARS AGO that I bought those. Heck, ten years ago I was sending money via Western Union for sports cards that would never show up. I learned very quickly with that and the Gretzky cards, but the thing that always upset me was the backlash certain people on this forum gave (and looks like continue) to give me.
I eventually threw those cards in the garbage, along with thousands of other cards, PSA graded and raw. You and so many here completely turned me away from the hobby for years with your harassment. I'd like to get back into collecting and sharing finds with others.
<< <i>......It's disgusting that you would bring this up, five years later Snorto............ >>
He did not, I did. I wanted people in the other thread to see the true character of the person defending the foul mouthed seller of the Nottebart ball.

--- Hey now, the FEW Gretzkys I sold it was disclosed that they were not real and only set fillers! NEVER did I pass ANY fake card off as real.
