1795 Half Dollar 2 leaf variety

This in in an ANACS photo cert;vf 30. Does it cross, or will the cuts on eagle's legs put it in a genuine holder?
It also has an old cleaning.

I would feel comfortable with that coin in a PCGS holder. I would even put a sticker on it at a 30.

Look at the cuts very closely my 1795 has plancent adjustment marks and it is in a PCGS holder.
Old cleaning is hit or miss but al lot of then were cleaned that are holdered.
What is the mark on the neck?

As I recall, the photo cert said "polished," in which case, it will "genuine".

They could be file marks; I am not sure how to really tell.

A divot; there are two. A very small one is below the large one; both show on the original photo.

Correct, but that was over thirty years ago. It has retoned some; under a 10X loupe the surface looks very similar to the 93-S Morgan that I just crossed.

Sure did; been thinking about RYK's one coin per year type set. Those are my photos, and the coin looks very much like them in hand.

My first impression was that the surfaces were really boinked and then I read that it is in a cert that has a "Polished" notation. Regardless of how long ago a coin was polished, it remains polished unless further boinked to remove the outer most layer.

I don't think that coin will cross, and furthermore I think it would get a "genuine" designation. The surfaces have been cleaned and recolored very crudely. In short it's old coin, but it's not really a nice old coin.

Personally I would leave it as it is, with the old ANACS Cert. Seems to me it is a much more rare and desirable bird in that form than in any other new plastic...JMHO.
