Would you buy this now, or wait?

As I've admitted in the past I'm a baseball card guy, so I apologize if my posts here in the PM forum sound like a newbie, but with regard to precious metals they are.

Would you buy two 1 ounce PAMP suisse bars for $2,565 today. With the 8% bing discount ($200) and eBay bucks ($51.30) I would be paying $1,156.85 each.

Sorry if this is an easy questions that everyone should know already, or a stupid question that no one should ask, but I would rather defer to the members that know way more than I do.

Edited to change the thread title.

Yes, I would buy them, assuming I had the money, and assuming it was a reputable seller.

Thank you for the help secondrepublic, and that would be yes to both assumptions. I should have stated in my OP that I have a few bucks set aside, and that the seller was solid.

There's always potential downside, as with anything. But PAMP bars are highly liquid, well-respected, and easy to sell anywhere. Notwithstanding gold's drop today, I think it still has some nice upside potential.

If you're in for the long haul then yes pamp suisse are nice bars. You might watch new listings and see if there's any panic sales with gold dropping a few dollars today.

As always use a credit card with paypal for the extra layer of protection.

Absolutely .... PAMP Suisse or Credit Suisse Bars are the recognized world leaders in Gold and other smaller ( 100 oz or less ) PM Bars ... very liquid. Just make sure that you only purchase Bars at a premium if a Assay Certificate comes with the Bar. Non Assay Certificate Bars will usually sell at a discount over those that have one.

FWIW, I just called my local dealer to ask their buy prices for Pamp vs. a Panda... They were paying $10 less for the Pamp than the Panda. They were also paying under spot for both.

Suggest you find another Dealer. You'll be surprised what they are selling for on eBay ... Heck, even APMEX will buy back the 10gm bars for $375 & the 1 oz bars for $1166 ( at today's spot price that's $5 over spot for the 1 oz ,,, you do the math for the 10 gm )

When the Bing discount went to 15% this afternoon the seller worked with me and set up 2 separate auctions for $1270 each under their lesser used eBay ID so they could pay a flat $20 final value fee (good for the first 5 auctions each month). They are shipping for free on Monday, and I paid via paypal with my credit card (obviously for Bing to work), so all bases are covered.

    So, $1,270 - $190.50 (15% Bing discount) - $25.40 (2% eBay bucks) = $1,054.10 for each 1 oz. PAMP bar.

Thanks to everyone for all the responses and encouragement.
