FWIW, a dealer I have known for 20+ years, and is a major player in modern product, reports that the Mint is sold out of 2009 1/10th oz. gold eagles.

The 2009 one-ounce bullion Gold Eagle is closing in on 1.2 million sold, and still commands a premium over earlier dates.
The fractionals so far have a much lower mintage, 43k for the half, 42k for the 1/4 and 260k for the 1/10.
These mintages are not low in absolute terms, but unless many more are struck I think these will also command a premium. Since there are no proof or burnished gold sets this year, many collectors may opt for the 2009 one-ounce and fractional bullion coins to continue having an uninterrupted date series.
The Mint is sold out of 2009 1/10th eagles for the year. Our supplier is sold out of the 1/4 and 1/2, but may be able to buy a small quantity more next week. TD

Planchet shortage, yeah - right!
I knew it would happen.
And to think I was worried that the 2009 bullion 1/4 OZ AGE could have a lower mintage than the 2008-W burnished 1/4 OZ.......NOT.
