St Gaudens question

If you please, on the 1908 No Motto St Gaudens, how would you determine if it is the Wells Fargo type?

There is no way to know for sure unless it is indicated on the grading label. And it usually is.

Wells Fargo is not a type, it is a pedigree from a large hoard found at an old Wells Fargo location. Many are high grade, and as Mark said, noted on the label.

Only the slab label can tell you for sure.

My guess is that countless Wells Fargo Saints have been broken out of their holders over the years and will never be reconnected to their Wells Fargo heritage...and probably no one really cares!
