But the more important question to me is, do you like this toning.
My answer to that is........
Maybe nicer in hand?
The 1887 morgan dollar is one of the more common morgans to find with vibrant, rainbow, toning. This 1887 in the image has a very odd color progression that to me based off of the image does not look correct, There are some missing colors that should be there and some progression that is incorrect. I see no pull away noticeable and while not mandatory is generally a clear sign of NT. The pattern does not appear to be recognizable IE end roll, bag, crescent. These things that are missing or incorecct would lead me to believe that the coin in question is most likely AT although I would need to see a reverse image and the coin in hand to make a better judgment call.
Hoard the keys.
<< <i> I see no pull away noticeable and while not mandatory is generally a clear sign of NT >>
Nothing to do with the thing posted, but, do you not think some color can be enhanced even with pull away? I agree pull away is a good sign of a coin being natural.
I also don't believe that any coin with pull away toning is an all clear sign of NT.
<< <i>Are you kidding? >>
Did you see any indication that the poster was kidding? Either way, why not just provide an opinion without including an insult?
Edited to add: The coin looks AT to me.

Oh, so you've seen it in person I guess.
it has negative eye appeal to most people

I think so.....at least that's what I infer from the OP's post.

I also do not believe any coin with pull away is an all clear sign of NT however pull away coupled with several other things can help a collector make an informed descision.

Agree, I was also just pointing out to help other collectors not to assume pull away was an absolute.

<< <i>Where can I find the definition of "pullaway"? >>
Here is an image of an end roll toned morgan dollar. Notice the "pullaway" under the date as well as under several of the stars. It will apear as almost a shadow of no toning 'if that makes sense' As previously stated pull away is not a 100% sure fire way of deciphering NT vrs AT but it is a good place to start. Pull away along with several other factors taken into account can help collectors and dealers alike avoid paying large premiums for raw AT coins that will most likely not slab by a major TPG at a later date.
