eBay coupon question - Mystery solved!

Hi folks-

On a number of auctions I have viewed, under the current price there is a reference to a "coupon" for 10% off, but I cannot figure out what kind of coupon they are referring to in the auction. For example under the current price there is line that states "Coupon $ Pay as little as $XX.XX [Show me how]. When you click on the "Show me how" link, it gives a calculation for the discounted price, but no instructions on how to redeem this mythical coupon.

The price is not adjusted at checkout...which I learned with my last purchase.

Can anyone help me figure out what this coupon reference is all about? Thanks.

Might be referring to the coupon eBay gave to buyers who won items during their recent search outage. I'm not seeing the discount in the auction, but since I didn't get the coupon that would make sense.

Check your eBay inbox to see if you have received a coupon, if you have, there is a code that you need to use. If you have not... you don't qualify for a discount.

I received the email... since then, sometimes it shows up calculated on an auction page... and when I come back to the same auction, it is gone... then I come back again and it's back

anyway, I have the code in the email and am planning on when and where to use it
