not trying to derail your thread but the image you posted reminded me of a coin i recently sold.......it was an Ecuadorian coin with a painted scene on the obverse

the llamas led me to believe the painting might have had Peruvian influences but you now have me thinking Bolivian

South American modern issues are very underrated in my book. I really think that these should pick up in value sooner or later! JMHO.

I hope so ormandh. I have a double row box of under a buck coins that I keep because I like the look. Most of it is post WW2 stuff
