Numismatic Coffee Cups.

keetskeets Posts: 25,351 ✭✭✭✭✭
Do you have any Numismatic Coffee Cups, either a cup from a Company/Firm that sells coins or one that's distinctly coin related by design?? I have one no-doubter and one that's a stretch.

The no-doubter cup is from Cameo CC, the stretch cup simply says "Brain Surgeon" and is one of my favorites!!! image Why not tell us if you have any Numismatic cups whilst at the same time putting in a shameless plug for what might be a preferred dealer? Thanks in advance.

They were speaker giveaways at the coin club where I was president for four years; they were already there when I took over and no one seemed to remember where they came from. They're just basic mugs with decent capacity; the coin images are in raised ink.
    When in doubt, don't.

I often take advantage of the low cost re-fills at many coffee dispensing merchants, for having my own cup from the Omaha Coin Club.

I have one from the gold museum at Dahlonega. It was a gift for doing a presentation on Whitman's gold-related books at their annual "local authors" event.

I have a nice colorful EAC mug that I got at the convention a couple of years ago...it is one of my favorites.

I did pick up a trio of the "rare" Van Briggle ANA coffee mugs a couple of years back. I gave one to a fellow ANA staff member and kept a couple for myself. I'm too afraid to actually use them, mind you!

Actually, I bought a mug from the Denver mint a few years ago. I still have it and will attempt to take apicture to post. It is dark blue and has a couple of diagrams of coins (I don't recall which) and says US Mint-Dept of Treasury on it. It, too, has a good size capacity.

Here's the one we have from the Denver Mint. It's a panarama of the Mint's facade. imageimage

As a collector, I suppose if Dealers or TPG's offered numismatic mugs at major shows I'd be forced to pick some up.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Sorry my photo isn't very good, but here's an Eagle Eye coffee mug (note the "copper" color) from Rick Snow - Rick, now can I have that pretty Indian cent for half price?

Coin & coffee: a winning combination. I'd wager that I drink more of the brown stuff than the rest of the board members combined. But I do not have a numismatic coffee cup! I'll have to fix that after reading this thread.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but does anyone else find that it's easier to buy coins at a show after a good caffeine jolt? I am dangerous to my own bank account after a few cups of good java on the bourse. While running low on caffeine and feeling groggy, I often walk around the entire floor without buying anything!

  • I have an NGC cup. My coffee cup collection was delegated space in the basement after we ran out of room in the kitchen image . Perhaps I will dig through them and if I find any photo worthy I'll update this post. Most cups are related to technology. When I was working I had a pretty good supply of coffee cups and tee shirts.

That's the mug I have from the Mint. I like the one the other person posted. It's really cool.

I have one of those too, but as I don't drink coffee, it's full of pens.

apparently it's a popular thing for clubs to issue cups/mugs. i think it's quite a coincidence that two members actually have the same club's logo-cup, were you guys both members there, perhaps at the same time??

Never been to Omaha unless you count a connecting flight from Chicago to Denver. I won the mug along with other state quarter launch stuff in a Coinhusker giveaway.
