Numismatic SCRABBLE

I got good letters and was able to play two numismatic words in a Scrabble game last night.

At one point I had the letters to make the word TRIME --- but believe it or not, it's not in the Official Scrabble Dictionary! (That's okay, I didn't have a place to play it anyway.)

Coiner: noun; moneyer, minter, one who makes coins. In some mints, it's an actual title.

    << <i>Ugs? Droid? >>

The photo was cut off. Those were THUGS and ANDROID.

Those are all nicknames for various bronze coins of the Indian Princely States. . . . hence this bit of doggerel dating from the Indian uprisings:

    Fe, Fi, Fo, Fum,
I smell the blood of an Englishman!

Yes I did! That made the play especially gratifying.

Because enquiring minds want to know! Thanks for that, I'm an avid follower of British Colonial History and I had never heard it.

STOP THE PRESSES! I was just joking with Capt. Henway . . . . that "blood of an Englishman" quote is actually from the legend of Jack and the beanstalk. Nothing to do with coins!

I'll bet it has "merit", "timer", "remit", "mitre", etc.
