  • I'm good at grading everything... it's them pesky perfessional graders and everybody else that don't know how... imageimageimage

Grading is easy... grading at a level where other people tend to agree with you... now that's where the trouble can start... image

Seriously... I am most comfortable with Buffalo Nickels, Walkers and Morgans... and strongest with circs... MS grading is far too subjective for my tastes and so I tend to be a bit conservative...

Based on some folks opinions, I guess I'm getting pretty good with circ Barbers, as well...

IMHO... grading circs should be a piece of cake... there is just so much wear on a coin... so much remaining detail... it is not rocket science...

It's the MS grades that befuddle me... and every coin seems to have a rather large range... depends on the day, the angle, the mood of the grader, the lighting... is it break time? am i hungry? did I get some last nite? will I get some tonite?... he/she yelled at me this morning... my nose itches... etc etc
Re: Slabbed coins - There are some coins that LIVE within clear plastic and wear their labels with pride... while there are others that HIDE behind scratched plastic and are simply dragged along by a label. Then there are those coins that simply hang out, naked and free image

    Funny...

That may be much more astute that you realize.
