Once Again the forum is digressing

This issue has been addressed a few times in the last few months about someone posting to an ancient thread. Is there any way that these old threads from 4 5 or more years ago can be flagged??So that someone who doesnt need to read a thread from 2004 about so and so s coin business would know before they read it ??? Just venting.

Keep in mind that not everyone has been here from the beginning.
I for one, like it when an old thread surfaces, especially if the information is interesting. If it doesn't interest me, then I am only a mouse click away from the next subject.

And truth be told, the threads from 4 to 5 years ago are generally higher in quality than those of today.

I don't know what it is ...but it looks like it...!!!.....
It's better that people at least do a search and revive an old topic rather than start the forth thread of the day on the same thing.
(I wish people would come back and show us the coin they were going to clean/doctor, but they vanish without a trace.)
I also have a good laugh at myself when I reply to a question posted 5 years ago and I forgot to check the date stamp.
Since age five I have mastered the art of regressing.

I think his entire point is that there's no way to tell if a thread is old w/o opening it. For me, it's not a big
deal to just hit backspace if I'm not interested.

Good! This one will be a hoot.
When it comes back I'm gonna complain about the title not being explicit enough. Until
then it should make a great cheet thread.

More seriously though.
I can understand how this is a little more of a problem
for those who haven't been here as long. We old timers
are much more likely to recognize them as old threads.
All I can suggest is to be sure to check the date on the
first post.
I like seeing old threads when someone is adding some-
thing relevent or if it's become relevent again, but some
of these do come back for no apparent reason.
Perhaps we should all try to say why we brought them back.
I do agree that it would be nice to have a date for the first
post right on the thread topic list but such requests have
always proven impossible to implement so we just need to
adapt.

Well if everything is so darn easy, how come so many folks
do not wash their hands before eating or after
shaking hands?
Camelot
respond again. What really bugs me is that my response is the exact same as it was previously.
That means I either have not learned anything in the years in between or I'm too stubborn to learn
anything new or I'm just flat out wrong again!
