I saw this bar in my less-frequented B&M's junque tray a couple of days ago:
They recently bought an old time collector's stuff, just one-offs, mostly generics.
I'm not really a collector, but I like JM stuff and this was in plastic. I was almost certain it was a J&M, but I couldn't find the hallmark so I grabbed the only other regular JM 1-ounce bar I posted a last week instead.
When I got home I googled it and saw that it's just the tiny trademark on the back under the box.
So today I had my 21-year old nephew (who just so happened to find a '64 dime in the coinstar earlier this week
) run some errands for me while I was working.
I sent him to that store and had him pick up the bar for me, and I gave him $20 to pick out one he wanted for himself, too.
He picked out one identical to this one:
Which was apparently a good choice. Looks like one closed on eBay over the weekend for $27, and I think his is older. Cars? mkman? Did he do good or just ok?

Ebay is a good resource to find lots of cool bars but be prepared to go against tons and tons of other collectors/hoarders.
If you want to find prices of some silver bars you have, check ebay completed listings.
You could also post a bar of yours on here and let me and agblox check it out and tell you what our experience is with a certain bar as we both have owned quite a bit and sold quite a bit of old bars.
Lastly, you could post a want list on the BST or this forums BST if there is something that you are looking for.
