Home Metal Detecting

Had a decent weekend...

I pulled some dateless wheaties out of a local hiking trail and found a place in the woods off of the path that had no old-growth trees and a sort of indention against a hillside. I started swinging my detector and pulled out a crazy amount of random bits of a building that was probably there in the late 1800s. Found my first horse-shoe, then another, and another. Lots and lots of old-fashioned nails and an ornate piece of iron that looks like it was the front of a stove. Once I can wade through the trash I might be able to find something better, but for now it's a lot of metal cogs and spikes and nails.

Keep going... frequently treasure lies beneath the trash. On another forum, a fellow found jars of coins beneath buried horseshoes... in THREE places.... HH Cheers, RickO

  • I like your idea.

Should find some place like that too
  • hey, maybe you will find the key to the front door
