Neat cheap optical toy for coins and stamps!

Stumbled across this on eBay, and figured it was worth a try for under $10 shipped:

Just got it yesterday. What a neat little toy. I can't count the number of coin and stamp shows I've been to where the lighting is just horrific. But at the same time I don't feel like hauling around anything bulky for lighting.

This thing is tiny. 24 grams total weight, and just a hair larger physical footprint than my loupe.

It's not 45x though, more like 20x, which is actually just about right for checking varieties.

The two LEDs are definitely bright enough.

You can adjust the angle of the lighting with respect to the optical barrel, but I find it works best all the way out.

There is a diopter adjustment, but I haven't found it to be useful.

Does NOT work well with slabbed coins, as you cannot get the coin itself close enough. Works great for raw coins in flips or 2x2s though.

Arrives with batteries already installed. Just flip the on/off switch and go.

I wish it had a loop/clip for attaching to a lanyard, but that's a minor quibble.

Can't complain for under $10.
