Let's play HTH did this happen?

Ok, during a summer ANA class it came time to play show and tell. So I whip out a bunch of toned walkers. No big deal right?

One coin in particular grasped the attention of several of the group I was with. I a split second it was wisked away. Before I knew it the coin was being passed around to luminaries aka heavyweights. Not my intent.

I actually had a pit in my stomach when the likes of Albanese, Shepherd, Dannreuther, Sirna, Stuppler and others were eyeballing it.

FYI---I bought this coin from a respected dealer and seconded by one of my main buyers who eyeballed it for me. It was love at first site when I received it. I like back stories.......
I digressed, anyways I think Ron Sirna brought it back to me as if the jury rendered a verdict......drumroll........image

How did this happen as walkers don't come this this. What was there concensus on how did this happen? What holder is it in? What's the grade? Does anyone care?

The coin is captivating in hand and I received three offers on the coin afterward for what it's worth. Not 4 sale image...................MJ

Your story is hard to read, can we assume it is in a major TPG slab and the general consensus at the ANA meeting was AT?

Do you have a CliffNotes version of what's going on image

Looks like a WLH in an old NGC Fatty with toning from the label.

Forgive my ignorance (for I know little of toned WLH's so my post may be way off base), but I can only comment with expertise if I assume your toned coin is a Canadian half dollar, then I can say the following:

The 'gasp' let out by others could not have been due to the excessive 'eye appeal' of the coin because I do not find it 'breathtaking'.

I can then only conclude that the 'gasp' was due to the fact that most of the experts there were taken aback that the AT'd coin was slabbed in a top tier TPG holder.

Were they serving Welches Grape Juice at the ANA that day?

(It flew out of your fingers and landed in the grape juice?)

I have no idea, Walkers do not normally turn these kinds of colors naturally.

Only the Doctor knows fur shure.... my guess would be kraft envelope and heat, after a quick dip and quicker rinse.

That would be a really nice WLH if not for the surface decomposition. That one was done well... with circulating fumes and both sides at once. Cheers, RickO

I like it but.. I too think the toning came from the slab label. image

The purple color reminds me of stuff I've seen in old PCI holders, though usually that toning is concentric.
