How common? 1964 Kennedy Proof 68 Rattler holder

A couple of years ago I purchased a 1964 Proof Kennedy half in PR68 from a wholesalers box...paid about $50. But it's in a first generation rattler holder. I don't recall
seeing any of these higher than PR66 when these holders were in use...almost seemed like PR65 was the highest grade PCGS would give out most of the time.

I remember throwing this back until I could find out how common these are (or were). Never been able to find any info...Sorry for no pic, but if this is something unusual,
I will hunt for it and post a photo.

Well, I know its not the same thing but i bought a 1955 Proof franklin in a PR 68 Rattler holder... paid 90 bucks. Since both our coins are fairly common there isnt much of a desire for them, hence not much of a premium.
