anyone ever heard of a 1989-P No VDB lincoln cent?

    It's from too much polishing, not truly worth a premium.
    Sort of like the over-polished ones where the vest merges into the field.

    .....i e-mailed Charles D. Daughtrey and asked him about this coin and here is his response.

    "There is at least one die on which the VDB initials were polished off the

    I was hoping someone was gonna say its worth a ton of money because at the local coin store they have one in a old PCI holder.

    It might be mere coincidence but there's an '89 in the mint
    set that has the VDB in very very low relief. It looks like a
    hubbing issue since the entire obverse is affected. This die
    might have been retired to strike circulation coins and be the
    one that lost the initials.

    I've seen only a few of these and don't have a good feel for
    their incidence (in mint sets). I'd guess it's in the .3% vicinity.
