ICG Guarantee Question

I have a 2000 Wide AM Lincoln Cent graded MS67RD by ICG. I have noticed that the coin is beginning to develop brown toning on both sides at the rim. I would also question the grade of the coin due to all the spots on the surface. Has anyone resubmitted a coin to for regrade and gotten money back? Was it difficult and worth it or not? I plan on posting photos once my camera's batteries recharge.

I picked up a few 67red ICG Lincolns that sound similar to that, I paid raw 64 prices and thought that was about right.

I didn't realize that ICG had a forum. Can you provide a link?

They DON'T have a "forum".
The ICG "guarantee" is that if you think your coins are overgraded you can submit them for regrade. If they regrade downward, they will refund the costs you pay to have them regraded.
When you buy a second tier coin and pay a price much lower than the grade would normally command, what can you REALLY expect?

Your case is obviously different, but give them a call.

<< <i>Was the coin graded by the previous ICG Administration, now mostly employed by ANACS or the other way around. Not sure if either company kept their existing guarantee when they changed ownerships. >>
ICG did not change ownership, the graders moved to ANACS and ICG moved from Colorado to Florida.
TRUTH
So, now anacs is where the ICG graders went. That explains why the old anacs coins cross fine to PCGS and the new holders don't!

What a bummer! They wont downgrade your coins for free if they are copper, you have to pay for the privilige.
